As Bob mentioned, I've had a DEGX1 for 5.5 years (bought 10/8/2004). I did videos of the drum door open and close process in November 2004, I'm sure I shared them here at the time. Most common problem I've seen/heard about is the belt idler pulleys wearing. Disassembly for service is unusual ... the front panel comes off, remove the door grabber unit, disconnect wiring harnesses, then the inner chassis tilts forward and out of the cabinet. Very helpful to have a service manual for this one.

The lint scraper doesn't move, the circular lint screen is attached to the drum at the left side behind the air outlet grill and rotates around the scraper. The lint bucket doesn't self-clean. The filter self-cleans and drops lint into the bucket, which is removed from its nesting place at the left of the drum for manual dumping as needed.

Jamie, there shouldn't be significant lint getting past the filter unless it's torn. Foreign debris such as nail clippings, tiny pebbles/rocks, seeds, and so forth can get caught between the filter and scraper, causing a tear in the screen. The filter is a very fine mesh and can get clogged with impacted lint debris over time, impeding airflow. Easy DIY to clean it gently with a toothbrush if needed.

As Jerry said, it dries fast, performs very well.
