I set out early to the thrifts today because Tuesdays are usually seniors days and I wanted to get a headstart on all those old people think they have a right to all the good stuff!!
I'm glad I did too because lookee what I found. Another Braun KM32 mixer WITH the blender. This ones not quite as pristine as the one I ebayed a couple of months ago for an obscene amount of money. I'll keep this one for now
 
Yay for Sunbeams in green

And this beautiful condition green Sunbeam Mixmaster had to come home as well. It's all taped up for transporting.
I found the Sunbeam blender this past Sunday at the flea market and it came with an extra jar as well. Very clean, looks like it was seldom used. Lucky because I was going to bid on one like it on Ebay.
The Waring I cheated and bought off Ebay. That model is one of my favorites because it's one of the most powerful blenders there is at 1000 watts.
 
Lastly there was also a Kenwood Chef A700d mixer there as well but they wanted $60 for it, a little steep since I already have one but if anyone wants it let me know.. Shipping will be a bit high. The A700d is the first model Kenwood from the 50's. It actually looks cleaner than mine.
 
The Sunbeams the standard 12 speed, it's actually a little darker looking in real life than the photo.
Lawrence the bowls were white at one time, these have discolored badly. Glass or metal bowls would have been nice but I don't think they came with them. The inside lip of the bowl is actually cogged, it slips under a cog wheel in the motor head and that turns the bowl. For 35 or 40+ years old it has remained quite stylish not unlike moi.. LOL
 
Waring Blender model 1191 2-Speed Lo/Hi

Hey Guys! I am new to this club. I am a member of the VCCC and I also collect small kitchen appliances. Love'em! Particularly mixers, but I also have some blenders and irons and as well. I also have some various other appliances-you name it-as long as it is in pristine condition.

My question regarding this blender relates to the glass pitcher which is in absolutely mint condition. However, I discovered that the blade assembly is non-removeable for cleaning. How is this sealed to the jar? Can it be replaced? And, when was the mixer made in what year? I would describe it as small in stature and very sleek. It's white/cream with a clear jar with black cover. I love it and I found it at an estate sale for $5. Who needs ebay! To clean it, I simply put some warm water in the jar and literally one or two drops of dish washing liquid and run it on low speed for a few seconds. I figured this was a good way to clean it since the blade assembly does not come out. Does anyone have a spare instruction booklet? Thanks guys! Any info would be helpful!

Hey Pete! Nice finds! Isn't it a great feeling to come out of a thrift store with something. While I'm not really into the small electrics, it wouldn't be that difficult to cross over to them. Some of the designs are great.

When you do move out this way, you'll have to let me know where Canadian vacs hide out. I can let you in on things in the Buffalo area too. My sister-in-law used to work for World of Vacations in Toronto and was traveling between there and Buffalo alot. She did find me a Canadian Hoover and a Lux model 89. But that was about it. Seems they were scarce around the Toronto area or she wasn't in the right places.

BTW I need a hose for that 89 Lux. I was thinking of changing out the hose coupler to the US version, but If I could find the Canadian hose that would be great. Even the machine end would work, I could graft it to a US version. Oh well, I'm drifting from this post. Great finds and hope you get alot more in the future.

Pete, these are wonderful finds! Are you *sure* you want to move out of that neighborhood?! Not to mention, with all the wonderful finds you've made, you're going to have a bit of packing to do. Take it from one who knows, and I unloaded a lot of stuff! LOL

Anyway, that Mixmaster is RARE and I mean that all in caps. I have never seen a model 12 in avocado green...it must have been manufactured just before the model 12 gave way to the the updated model with the straight handle and detachable cord. Conversely, I have seen a very few of that style in turquoise and in pink, so I guess the colors overlapped both ways for a bit.

Those are my favorites of the Sunbeam and Waring standalone blenders, respectively. Congrats on another great thrift day!
 
Pete congratulations on such great finds. I have to agree with Scott, That model 12 Sunbeam must be rare, sure is one that I have never seen before and don't remember either. Thanks for sharing. Terry
 
Joe I don't have a spare Lux 89 hose, just the one with my 89 but I'll check around and will definitely let you know if I find one. One of the vac stores in town has a model 89 for sale, with the power nozzle which I don't have, and he's asking something like $270 for it.. as if.

Louis in CT. Can you post a pic of that model 1191. The one in the pic above is model 1197 and they were sold in the mid to late 60's with a detachable blade latching mechanism. The prior models had non removeable blades that need a wrench to remove, they're not meant to be removed by the homeowner. All the ones into the 70's Futura models had non removeable blades with the wagon wheel drive.

Scott; wow I found a rare one. I wonder if it originally had green bowls. I have the yellow one with glass clear bowls and the chrome one with SS bowls. Then too it could be a Canada only model color?
 
Pete I got to thinking about the whole Canada thing after I posted....that's a distinct possibility, and a good question about the bowls, if there were ever green ones. Take the motor off the stand sometime and see what it says under there, a model # or anything about Canada, that sort of thing. You see a lot of Australian Sunbeam stuff on Ebay and they did some different kinds of things we never had, so it's always possible that maybe they ran that style longer than we did, or something like that.

In the US, the colored bowls ended with the model 12. When they switched to the new style, you got white bowls with the white mixer, or clear with the harvest and avocado, stainless with the chrome. Later still, you got clear bowls even with the white mixer; a cost saving measure I suppose. With model 11 and 12 the bowls were keyed to the mixer color, but I think with the chrome you must have gotten your choice of stainless steel or clear glass as I've seen model 12s both ways.
 
Scott, the mixer itself doesn't say where it's made only UL Model 12, 150 watts.
However under the stand it says Sunbeam factories Chicago Toronto.
Made in Canada.

And I just noticed that there is a chip/chunk out of the handle right where it rests against the pto for the juicer. I'll have to scavenge one somewheres eventually from a beat up find. Otherwise it's in excellent cosmetic condition.
 
Scott for some reason it seems like I remember that there was a time you bought the chrome mixmaster you had to pay extra for the stainless bowls, I know that in the beginning with the Sunbeam Electric fry pan you had a choice of a glass cover or an aluminum for an extra charge. Terry
