My next door neighbor's daughter gave me his Farberware grill/rotisserie after his death. I've always wanted one but wouldn't buy one because I was unsure how much use it would get. It seems everything is there and it was used only a few times but...it has the supports for the rotisserie rod but there is no unit to turn the rod. I'm assuming there must be an electric motor which turns the rod. Also, there are kabob skewers and a round heavy wire basket (looks like a can with no top or bottom. I cannot figure out how this works of if all the parts are there. HELP!!!! Anyone out there have an owners manual that can be scanned? If I was a bit more computer literate, I'd take pictures with the digital camera and upload them here.

Roger:

This is one of those times when eBay is your best friend. If you'll go there and search on "farberware rotisserie," you will find parts available (yes, there should be a motor unit), and you will also find complete ones for sale, which will give you pictures to look at so that you can determine what's missing.

These are great units, so complete it with whatever it needs, and enjoy it. You don't have to buy parts from eBay; incomplete units often turn up in thrifts.

I have a owners manual some place around here. The unit needs amotor to turn the rod. They made many types of these units but you should have.

Grill rack
try for grease
two support holders for the rod they go into the stand or the grill unit
spit fork and holders
cord and element
element rod support

Skewers should have a piece that is the size of the grill they fit into six of them then hooks into motor.

I use mine as a grill no flame ups at all. Makes a great stake or hamburger even bbq meats are good on it. Poor sauce right on meat will not hurt element or rack just wipe when done. Easy to clean also The rack has two ways to use it low or high high is great for hamburgers and say chop stack. High is good for longer cook times like t bones.

I one two of them one is the small unit other large. But both work the same.

If I find the book I can scan it for you.

did not scan the whole book but there are recipes and such the pages I scan are the main ones to use the unit.

Also when using rotisserie or skewers do not use the grill rack. But you can use it if needed say put some vegs on it under the meat your cooking.

Congratulatons!

This was top rated by CU. Even though it is 115 V, the cool air flowing around the food keeps it from being roasted or baked like in most small partially enclosed broilers. There are funky vinyl covers to fit both sizes to keep them dust-free in storage.

Farberware grill/rotisserie

We had one years ago and the steaks always came out real well. When we moved somehow it got lost so mom says. I like the fact it can go in the dishwasher. I was thinking of ordering one from ebay. I'm just kind of tight on storage. I wish they still made them. I don't need the rotisserie but the grill would be great.

Small one is easy to store if you can find one. They way they work is it folds up into one piece to store. I like the little one for two people. You can fit 2 hamburgers I have got 3 chop stakes on it. Half a chicken side, I use it most of the time.

It folded up is about the size of a small toaster oven.

The larger one holds about 6 to 8 hamburgers 6 chop stakes and 2 chicken sides. Bad thing it does not store easy. I just put it together and set in on top of the fridge.

I like the large one for company or if I want to cook some stuff for left overs.

To me it taste just as good as a outside bbq grill. The best part I am inside out of the snow rain wind heat. Heck I use mine about every day makes good vegs and meats that melt in your mouth.

Hey, thanks guys!

What a surprise! I didn't think I'd have answers this quickly but they came into good use as I tried using it for the first time. It actually works quite well - made burgers and tasted very much like off a gas grill. However, this thing DOES put out some heat!
Sandy, I can't believe I never gave a thought to trying EBay! I looked and found most everything I could think of that is missing. Thanks.
Troy, your manual came in very handy today. I used the rack in the high position as the burgers were still frozen but they came ut so good. Thank you for scanning that. Now, how do I print out the intructions?
Pete K., You said you've not used yours? Try it to see what it can do.

We also have the entire 'Guide to Creating Culinary Mast

and I'd be happy to send you anything you like from it.

HOWEVER!

These grills draw a very heavy current for the now ancient insulation on their wiring. I've had to replace the power cord to the element and the cord to the motor (the element draws from an outlet on the motor on our unit). I'd be very cautious leaving the unit unattended and definitely change the plug at the outlet, at least, if it feels even moderately warm after running for several minutes. It should stay cool.

I 'tent' heavy duty foil over the top when doing an entire fowl, it speeds things up by 30 minutes.
