Mine were the Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman and The Man from Atlantis............yes I was the GAYEST child!!

This episode caused me a lot of worry!!! God you gotta love Lindsay Wagner.....I wanted to be her.....lol!!!! Also I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some adrenalazine!

Defining "Kid"

hmmmmm.....

Little kid:

"Felix the Cat,
The wonderful, wonderful cat.
Whenever he gets into a fix
He reaches into his bag of tricks."
(It would figure that my first hero would be a male who carried a handbag!)

Also "Tom Terrific" who wore a funnel on his head. A staple of Captain Kangaroo.

Elementary school kid:

"Mickey Mouse Club" Loved that Annette!
"I Love Lucy" When it WASN'T in reruns.
"Leave it to Beaver" In retrospect, Wally was hottimus maximus.

Teenage kid:

"Patty Duke Show" I can still sing the theme lyrics.
"Donna Reed Show" Wished I had a mom like that.
"Shindig" Get to see famous teen acts every week.

All through my three "kid" phases was one show that was "must-see TV": "American Bandstand" NOTHING will ever replace that!

When I Was Really Young:

It was Robin Hood, a British show that was shown here in syndication. It played in that "afterschool" time frame between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.

"Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
Riding through the glen,
Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
With his band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Robin Hood! Robin Hood! Robin Hood!

He called the greatest archers
To a tavern on the green,
They vowed to help the people of the king,
They handled all the trouble
On the English country scene,
And still found plenty of time to sing.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
Riding through the glen,
Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
With his band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Robin Hood! Robin Hood! Robin Hood!"

The show starred Richard Greene as Robin Hood, and Alan Wheatley as the dread Sheriff of Nottingham.

I was also a big fan of The Buccaneers, another British import:

"Let's go a-roving
A-roving across the ocean
Oh let's go a-roving
Let's join the Buccaneers

He the bravest man we know
say he's not and you'll be walking the plank, sir

Let's go a-roving
A-roving across the ocean
Oh let's go a-roving
And join the Buccaneers!"

For me it's was The Six Million Dollar Man....and now I have my own

The Bionic Woman.....I used to have a golden Retriever called Maxamillian.... always thought it was spelled differntly...

Starsky and Hutch....

Baretta......with huggy bear and the white cock-a-too that would drink whiskey

POP QUIZ.....Name all the characters of Scooby Doo?

How about Josie and the Pussycats?

remember Jabber Jaws?

How about SHAZAM, in those red tights....or even ISIS

Dr. Shock on Saturday afternoons, scary thrillers!

memories of our youth.....

This is going to date me.... but...

The Flintstones / Jetsons (my two all-time faves)
Batman
Dudley Dooright
Rocky & Bullwinkle / Fractured Fairy Tales
Tennessee Tuxedo
Felix the Cat
Underdog
Snagglepuss

In almost every case, earlier episodes were much better than later ones, and geared more for adult audiences. Not sure why.

Those are definitely classics for people our age, Jeff.

I'd add these from the same era:

Bugs Bunny (although many of the best of these were from the 1940-50s)
Top Cat
Yogi Bear
Johnny Quest
Captain Kangaroo

Exit! Stage right, even!

Hmmmmmm...........

Lets see......

The Pink Panther
The Ant and the Aardvaark
Bugs Bunny
Tom and Jerry
The Inspector
Scooby Doo (The original of course)
The Flintstones
The Great Space Coaster
Fraggle Rock
Leave it to Beaver
Mister Rogers
Sesame Street
and of course, last but certainly not least....
The Muppet Show.

If I think of any more I'll post them lol.

Pretty much everything Vern (Strongenough78) listed with the exception of The Great Space Coaster. That one doesn't ring a bell. To add to his list, Inspector Gadget, Smurfs, and various Disney shows.

I was also a big fan (still am) of the older shows that were broadcasted in reruns on Nick at Night during the 80's and 90's.

From Wiki:

"Bobby Moynihan appeared as Snagglepuss on the "Weekend Update" segment of Saturday Night Live, on November 15, 2008. Snagglepuss appeared as a guest to discuss the passing of California's Proposition 8, an anti-gay marriage proposition. Snagglepuss "came out" during his appearance. He also announced that his lover was The Great Gazoo from The Flintstones."

Heavens to Murgatroyd! Sorry I missed that episode.

"Mrs Peel,"

We're needed.

Oh, how I LOVED "The Avengers." But only with Emma Peel as played by the magical Diana Rigg!

Many of the ones mentioned above.

Then, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In. That was during elementary school.

During high school, we ALL watched SNL (back when it was new AND funny. Gilda, Dan, Laraine, Jane, John, Garrett.......and our Monday morning conversation, at least among us art/theatre types would be like: "and wasn't Weekend Update a stitch?...."

Ma was pretty cool, so I got to see the very first episode of "All In The Family." I loved Edith Bunker, and wanted to kiss Ed Stivic.

We also watched M*A*S*H in first run, and again in syndication.

Lawrence/Maytagbear

One more for Eugene

I have initiative, brains, also sweetbreads, ambition, and I've been vaccinated. LOL

The Bionic Woman & The Six Million Dollar Man were my favs. I like The Bionic Woman the best, I wanted to be Jamie Sommers sooo bad back then.

The Curiosity Show (Australian childs science show)

Oh, and Mr Squiggle....love Mr Squiggle.

BUT.....

My all time favourite show when I was a child, and one of my earliest TV memories was of Adventure Island. I can just remember watching them when originally run (I'm a 69 baby and they were filmed 67-72) and then the reruns. Adventure Island was an Australian 1/2hr Pantomime style programme. Adults dressed in costumes as Pandas, pirates, camp dialogue, lots of morals - It was wonderful. The Friday close was different from the the rest of the week and used to reduce me to tears as a 5yr old. Funnily, it just had the same effect when I listened to it 36yrs later! Interestingly, the posts on Youtube comfirm my feelings that many of us were upset when it closed on Friday nights.

Thanks ABC
