I remember watching a Frigidaire 1-18 training video, and they bashed the Maytag, because the lid opened back, and tended to shut the washer off,by pushing in the timer knob.
I haven't had even one minor problem with my 89 GE. Fingers crossed the truck ride cross country hasn't caused any damage.
Guess I'll find out next month when it gets installed in our new house.
I have a GE post filter-flo washer from 2000. This is after I dumped my filter-flo washer and matching dryer! I also have the matching dryer to the 2000 GE washer! Boy I regret ditching my filter-flo and taking it to the dump! If y're thinking about having your filter-flo set taken to the dump, Don't even think about it! Don't make the same mistake I did!
Yeah, we're getting alot of ancient posts across every forum group being dug up from the tombs. All with the same "GE SHOULD HAVE NEVER GIVEN UP ON THE FILTERFLO SHAME ON YOU GE" rant.
I'm all for passion and nostalgia but maybe we can talk about something else this week?
I thought perhaps it was the ghost of Christmas past!
The Filter-Flo was a great cleaner, but they were HUGE water hogs, they had no out of balance shut off and could "self destruct" causing tub or boot damage if ran out of balance, and had rust issues. I'm afraid they would be a huge failure if they were still being sold today.
