keymatic

Hello Mark

Thanks for your comments, i am in ore myself to be honest, it must have been kept somewhere dry and warm......and the biggest shock was when i switched on and it started to working with no keyplate.......
so quickly switched it off and used my camera to take a movie of it.
The pump had seized but i freed that off.

GRRRRR all i want is a keyplate or two, i dont know how many this machine had.

Have a good day
Gary

Rob

F*** the pyramids, we need to see the 8th wonder of the world.

Gary so happy for you and us all, will email you later when I get back from work, enjoy your very special day.

Mathew

You are going to get me sacked Gary!

How the hell am i supposed to work from home when stuff like this is going on!

June 1972!
Blimey - an early one.

As Mathew mentioned to me many moons ago, the Keymatic matchbox was released a year or so after the 3235 and 3236H, which came out in 1970.
I think the keymatic was released in 1971/72ish.

That machine is pristine Gary - i just cant get over its condition. Everything about it, bearing in mind its age, looks immaculate.

Thankyou for the pictures - may they be the first of many many more.

Has taught me something else about the 3243H - there were two colour variations. Looks like early machines had the slate grey lower facia panel section, whilst the later machines (see the Matchbox advert above) had a grey lower panel and 'KEYMATIC DE LUXE' written in white on a red background.

Oh the wonders!
Now all we need is a 3236H!!! and then a 3235 and then.....and then.....

Happy tinkering.
Paul
p.s more piccies, more piccies, more piccies

Two keyplates Gary - 13 wash programmes + Spin + Prewash + Special Treatments.

16 programmes divided over two keyplates, with 4 programmes each side of each key.

If you need servicing info drop a request on here and info will be forthcoming from someone - me included.

I have some pics of a real life 3062 if you want them for your files?

Mark

Still amazed at the 3243....Beautiful

you're very lucky. It's a wonderful washing machine. I'd like to read the user's book if somebody can mail it...

How do Mark.

Thanks for the offer of the A3062 piccies - gratefully taken up!

Its weird how, of all the Keymatic models, the two rarest visually are the two most recent - the penultimate model a3062 and the last of them all in the form of the a3112.

Re:the a3112 - the only image i have ever seen of this rare blighter is the facia shot shown above. if anyone has any image, sidetracking from the 3243h briefly, of the a3112 i would be really grateful to see it.

Cheers Mark.

Paul

Forgot to mention that I love the detergent dispenser design.
How long did they have that design for? Prefer that one to the later one they had like on the 3060.

Was it that clean when you got it Gary? Can't see any detergent / softener deposits!

Mark

Heres the pics for you Paul

We must have posted at exactly the same time as I didn't see your answer to my question.

The 3243H is still much better looking!!!! Im not trying to nick your thread Gary!

eeeehh - I feel keymaticky all over - cheers for the piccies Mark.

general question...

I wonder if the a3062 plates would fit a 3243H?

the 3224/3226 plates unique to those machines.
would the widebody keyplates be unique to that series?

would the slimline machine plates (all machines from the 3243h came with two plates) be the same across the board?

paul

keyplates and pictures

What a loveley set of pictures mind they all better than mine as they have the keyplates, that short burst of activity is all im gonna see until i get some keyplates..........

I was wondering about making one, im pretty handy at that sort of thing, i would need a template though.

in the mean time yes if anyone can guide me as to which switches do what i can play a bit with it.

Mark
No i havent cleaned it apart from some cobwebbs underneath, i like the soap draw aswell, the fabric condiitoner tray is clean aswell so maybe they never used the stuff.

Paul

It is in very ggod condition, there are some tiny rust spots on the door and the body, but this is totally acceptable considering its age.

here is a fot of the back as you can see the mains lead and hose was chopped but i have these as spares so that was no problem

All i can say is KEYPLATES.........WAAAAAAAAAAA

Ta ta for now lads

Matching Dryer

Well, like many of you my mind has been wandering off into keymatic dreamland all day, and one thought I had as a result of working on the creda sensor dryer on friday, wouldn't it have been great for hoover to have brought out a matching keymatic sensor dryer, with the different dryness levels and fabrics on the various side of the keyplate. You could then have had a truely top of the line washer and dryer. A keymatic dryer de luxe lol

Mathew

Here you are Mathew........

always up for a 'What might have been....' rendition.

No porthole door on the dryer - wouldnt be seen for another three years or so.

looks quite groovy in my eyes.
very smart.
