I AM WRITING IN CAPITALS........

CAUSE I AM SHOUTING FOR JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FANTASTIC FIND - CONGRATULATIONS.

I WILL BE WRITING IN CAPITALS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS POST!

YIPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

THERE WAS ONE OUT THERE AND YOU GOT IT!

YOU LUCKY, LUCKY, LUCKY, LUCKY..............

I AM SOOOO PLEASED THAT FINALLY WE HAVE A MATCHBOX PRESERVED - I TAKE IT YOU WILL BE KEEPING HOLD OF THIS ONE THEN!

WAS MATHEW DOWN THERE TO SEE IT OR DID HE JUST MISS IT (HE WILL BE GUTTED NOT TO HAVE SEEN IT, IF HE DID INDEED MISS IT).

Right - have calmed down now and can return to normal typing. God almighty, ha ha ha, I am over the moon.

Please post so more good pics of it as soon as possible.

I am over the moon that, at last we have A (meaning ONE) hoover matchbox preserved amongst our ranks.

Brilliant -absolutely brilliant.

A very happy
paul
p.s plllllleeeeeeaaassssssssseeee post more pictures. give us overload. A matchbox - last time i saw one was circa 1990, when the keymatic 3243h was sat at the front of aneighbours garage awaiting colection for scrap!
When was she made?
She is a 3243H, or is it an A3050?

madness takes it toll

HA HA IM FOOKIN MAD STILL MATEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

slap slap...............

right it is a 3243H............ohhhhhhhh yes ill keep this baby.................ill have to make room..........hmm that electra dryer might have to go

Matt had gone but i rang him straight away i found out i had one, i rang him when i picked it up.

It is a lucky thing in a way, coz my mate was at this site and the guy running the site told him about it and showed him it, my mate confirmed it was what i wanted and then rang me.........i then rang Mathew.......I still cant beleive it...........it is in better condition than i ever thought it would be.................Mathew says i can test it by pushing certain contacts inside.........but of course ill need the keyplate to really try it.

When i get it to the garage ill do some proper pictures of it............

It will take a time to get used to the idea that at last one has turned up

Mathew was here most of Friday, he fixed the Creda sensor dry, a wire had come off one of the switches........so that was good and it is a realy quiet nice machine, so well built

We yacked and chatted about Hoover 99% of the time, i played him the keymatic advertising record i bought (more than one play is enough to drive you round the bend)..........and compared brochures (my other half stayed upstairs :-)....)

We had a good time, and of course he has brought me good luck this weekend i feel........

So i suppose i am member of the keymatic club now...........KIN ELL

Blah blah blah

Your two slaps aren't even registering!

I HAVE GONE COMPLETELY MAD.

THE SMALL LETTERS LARK TOWARDS THE END OF MY LAST MESSAGE WERE ONLY A BRIEF CALM.

I AM 'MAD' AGAIN AND ITS BEGINNING TO HURT.

AWWWWW BLOODY HELL - I AM ALMOST REDUCED TO TEARS.

I CANT EMPHASISE HOW TRULY TRULY TRULY HAPPY I AM THAT ONE OF THESE IS PRESERVED.
WE HAVE ALL BEEN HUNTING FOR SOOOOOOOOO LONG.

MIKE GOT VERY CLOSE BUT HAD ONE SNATCHED AWAY FROM HIM.

I HEARD OF ONE, BUT THAT CAME TO NOUGHT.

BUT FINALLY ONE IS SAFE.

Can i write in normal letters yet? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I TRIIIIIEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDD, BUT I AM STILL SHOUTING FROM CLOUD 9.

NO - MUST come down. clam down. calm down. gently does it. thats it. landing gently. bloody hell.

I know that Mathew too will be over the moon like i am. He has missed the matchbox machines badly over the last years too.

Afraid that i dont have a Keyplate for it - there's your next hunt! Does it ever end with these bloody machines? one challenge after another.

I have to say that I am in awe as to its condition. It is truly pristine and rustless (very surprising as the matchboxes suffered from rust quite badly). Even my parents machine, which was treated with the utmost care and respect and repaired time and time again, was suffereing from rust issues in its later years. not badly, but they were there.

When you get her settled into her new home, please can we come and visit too!?

Glad that you and Mathew had a great washer weekend.
Bloody hell - the 3243H has topped the charts.

eagerly awaiting the pictures - how old is she.

I have now got proper homework to do Gary - how the bloody hell am i supposed to concentrate now!

Grrrrrrr!
brilliant stuff gary.
Cheers for making my evening.

OMG!! OMG!! SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Im am so happy for you Gary. What an amazing find.
Big Congratulations.
Im sure you will get a keyplate from somewhere.
Is it me or is the door boot large and the drum opening smaller than what we are used to? Is that because it is a "matchbox" machine?

FABULOUS DARLING!!! We want pics and more pics and vids and more vids and more pics and more vids...lol

Lucky you!:D I should wish I also had a Keymatic. But have no space left for more machines! Think I must get rid of some machines soon.

Keymatic

PAUL

I hope you have calmed down now...........

MARK

Thanks for your comments aswell, and welcome back here :-)

And to all who have been supportive.........

I have put a crap vid on youtube, i plugged it in and it worked as you can see, but the pump was seized (no problem really)

The big problem as Paul has mentioned is getting a keyplate for it...............

Hi Gary

All I can say is WOW!!

It's a simply stunning machine and I so love the different coloured lights to tell you what stage of the programme it's at.

What amazing condition for being 37 this year.

Im in ore!!

keymatic

Hello Mark

Thanks for your comments, i am in ore myself to be honest, it must have been kept somewhere dry and warm......and the biggest shock was when i switched on and it started to working with no keyplate.......
so quickly switched it off and used my camera to take a movie of it.
The pump had seized but i freed that off.

GRRRRR all i want is a keyplate or two, i dont know how many this machine had.

Have a good day
Gary

Rob

F*** the pyramids, we need to see the 8th wonder of the world.

Gary so happy for you and us all, will email you later when I get back from work, enjoy your very special day.

Mathew

You are going to get me sacked Gary!

How the hell am i supposed to work from home when stuff like this is going on!

June 1972!
Blimey - an early one.

As Mathew mentioned to me many moons ago, the Keymatic matchbox was released a year or so after the 3235 and 3236H, which came out in 1970.
I think the keymatic was released in 1971/72ish.

That machine is pristine Gary - i just cant get over its condition. Everything about it, bearing in mind its age, looks immaculate.

Thankyou for the pictures - may they be the first of many many more.

Has taught me something else about the 3243H - there were two colour variations. Looks like early machines had the slate grey lower facia panel section, whilst the later machines (see the Matchbox advert above) had a grey lower panel and 'KEYMATIC DE LUXE' written in white on a red background.

Oh the wonders!
Now all we need is a 3236H!!! and then a 3235 and then.....and then.....

Happy tinkering.
Paul
p.s more piccies, more piccies, more piccies

Two keyplates Gary - 13 wash programmes + Spin + Prewash + Special Treatments.

16 programmes divided over two keyplates, with 4 programmes each side of each key.

If you need servicing info drop a request on here and info will be forthcoming from someone - me included.

Paul

I have some pics of a real life 3062 if you want them for your files?

Mark

Still amazed at the 3243....Beautiful

you're very lucky. It's a wonderful washing machine. I'd like to read the user's book if somebody can mail it...

How do Mark.

Thanks for the offer of the A3062 piccies - gratefully taken up!

Its weird how, of all the Keymatic models, the two rarest visually are the two most recent - the penultimate model a3062 and the last of them all in the form of the a3112.

Re:the a3112 - the only image i have ever seen of this rare blighter is the facia shot shown above. if anyone has any image, sidetracking from the 3243h briefly, of the a3112 i would be really grateful to see it.

Cheers Mark.

Paul
