I have a keyplate too Gary, although its in storage at the moment in a box somewhere. I cant remember which model it is for though, so will endeavour to check when next the storage door is opened.
I think its the same colour (but grubbier) as the one mike is sending you.
I will check when i can for you.
Hi Mike.
model numbers. hmmmmmm.
I think i have got the uk side of things sussed and, as far as i know, the 3243H was the ony UK matchbox model (barring the A3050 leccy board exclusive).
Having seen the many weird model numbers stamped on your keyplates, all i can assume is that 3234 was an export model (probably continental).
The machine which you nearly managed to acquire was still a 3243H, but from the later run of machines i.e when the orange 3236h and 3022 appeared.
gary's machine is the early version, which would have been on sale alongside my parents red version 3236h.
I think that is how it works anyway.
Blimey gary - i still cant get over it. I have calmed down now, but i am sure the stresses and strains of stuff happening on here and to me directly, have knocked a couple of years from my life.
But hey - for a 3243H - i really dont mind.
Enjoy - you have a magical machine there!
Still really pleased for you.
Paul
p.s below is the Keymatic de luxe E (A3050), image courtesy of Mike King's collection. This version, as i understand it, employed a white upper panel (where gary's 3243H is silver) and a brown lower panel (where gary's machine is slate grey).....
