Well - After turning to you folks for help in January with questions on the Speed Queen, We finally decided to go ahead and order them yesterday afternoon...

We went with the AWN412 Washer and ADE3LR Dryer - Total cost out the door was $1333.08... That Included deliver, haul away of the old washer & dryer, and setup & installation included all the hoses, and the cord set for the Electric Dryer....

They will be delivered on Next Saturday -

Now I have a question for you all - I want to raise the water level in the tub as high as possible - Does anyone know how high up the tub one can safely go without causing damage to the washer ? I was thinking the second or third row of holes from the top?

I do not want it to be so high as to pour over the top of the tub with a large load like a comforter, but I know it will have to be raised...

According to the Dealer, the new Washers made in 2013 now have the water valve opening the same size for both hot and cold - He said the hit side is no longer restricted - So we will have to see if this is true or not - I do not think he is making it up, becuase on the sales card on top of the machine that showed the construction, one of the points made was that Speed Queen is now the only company selling in the US that give you a "pure hot water wash" when you select hot -

We will have to see -

Anyway - Thank you for the help in advance on the Tub Water Level...

Instructions

You will find them on the link below. Essentially, you'll want to "crank it" so it fills, watch it and when the level is right FOR YOU, turn it back until it stops. This should give you all the water usage you NEED for a wash.

Good luck, and I'm glad to hear you made the RIGHT washer and dryer choice :-)

I would recommend that you try out your fine new Speed Queen first. I just let my wife use the machine and offered to reset it for her but after a couple days she only hit the reset knob once and that was for our blankets. My wife declined having me reset her Speed Queen.

Since we are on a mound septic system we have to limit how much we use water to 240 gallons of water a day, by using the machine only to its factory setting my wife can do 4 loads and we still are not maxing out the useage of the water as the specs say that it is using 31 gallons a load.

New SQ Top Load Washer

Yay, I am sure you will enjoy these machines, as a SQ dealer I think you will find the water level very good as it comes from from the factory, I end up turning up the WL in only about 1 in 10 machines we deliver and install. The hot setting is all hot, but when set on warm 70% comes from the cold side and only 30% comes from the hot side, so unless your hot water is really hot or your cold water is not too cold you may find the warm setting gives you a cooler wash temperature than you like, this can be dealt with if you like.

Well - The newest additions to the house were delivered on Saturday !!!!
These things are great - Very well built... I am glad that we made the right decision going with the Speed Queens over getting LG or Samsung Front Loaders... (My partner really did like the LG !!!)

So, Since I am not great with posting multiple pictures at one, I will post a bunch on at a time -
Not that everyone here does not know what they already look like, but some may not have seen them in real pictures...

First The 11 year old Frigidaire Washer.... (My father worked for Frigidaire/WCI/Electrolux for 25 years - Everything in our house is Frigidaire since we still got the employee discount even though he passed away)

Installed New 1/4 Turn Water shut off valves... I Like everything to be new - Plus I wanted quick turn valves....

Plus a nice new 4-prong outlet to replace the old three prong version ( I never understood why they installed a 3-prong anyway since they used 4-conductor cable !!!)

Inside of dryer.... I love the fact that clothes do not get stuck between the baffles and the fron or rear of the drum like they did in the Frigidaire... Speed Queen was smart enough to angle the ends of the baffles...
