Congrats

I wanted the rear control boosted hot model, but they were terribly backordered. I selected the Imperials instead.

Congratulations....

Jamie use your SQ right away, I have a feeling there is a video coming that i would like to see! Your new machine is wonderful. alr

Welcome to the club!

Here's the Canadian version of the console for that machine.

I absolutely love the drum on these machines. The rear of it is so artistic... and you just can't beat those metal paddles.

Congratulations!

Lovely Speed Queen there, looks very smart, I know it'll give you many years of service, not to mention loads of clean clothes lol, I look forward to hear how you get on with it :)

Congratulations, Jamie! You're going to love this washer. Love the blue knobs!

So the boosted-hot model is still available? I wasn't too surprised to see Consumer Reports hadn't even rated (or tested?) the SQ front-loader in their ratings this month. Since they're not available at mass retail outlets so I suppose they're not interested. Too bad, I'd rather have one of these than most of the others they did rate.

New SQ FL Washer

Congratulations Jamie on joining the club of the best new washer owners. This is a machine that even a young man like yourself could keep going for your entire life.

One caution for those that are buying new SQs on line is that SQ has advised us that there is ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY on machines not purchased from a registered dealer. However I have seen new SQs go for as little as 1/2 price on line so buying it without a warranty may not be a bad deal at all.

Wayyyyyy back when I was gullible enough to subscribe, CR's web site was a separate subscription and cost from their print media.  I dropped the magazine and had a site subscription for a couple months less than a year.  I did not like that they required an active credit card be on the online account and the info could not be deleted after paying the subscription.  I requested the subscription be canceled, and access was immediately revoked with two months paid time remaining and no refund.  I noticed errors on the details of several reviewed appliances, brought it to their attention and corrections were not done.

Well, I did it...

After trying a few loads with the water level at factory settings, I decided it was pretty good, but it could be better...

After following Jon's detailed and then revised (
smiley-wink.gif
) instructions, I have the water level JUST above the rim of the inner tub! I ended up doing 2.75 turns on the 2 screws to achieve this, we'll see how it does! I've got a load of red and orange towels going in it right now!

The machine did struggle a tiny bit with a Bob-like load (I don't think it could be considered a true Bobload as there was a little room at the top of the drum still! It had trouble with the rinses, not enough water! (At least in my opinion!)

Anyway, here's a pic of the new level during the wash! I shoulda snapped other pics of the first few loads but, I was so very hypnotized that I forgot!
