<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: medium;">I found a 80 pack of Finish Powerball very cheap so I though I would give it a try.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: medium;">As long as I have been using a Kitchenaid I have never had a detergent "bog" down the motor such as this. The sounds were obvious.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: medium;">I did not open the door to see if there was suds.  The first rinse I could tell it cleared.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: medium;">I can't imagine this stuff with the newer dishwashers and the smaller motors.  Must create a huge strain.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: medium;">The cleaning outcome was great.

Isn't there any kind of filter to prevent that?
All the dishwashers I've seen have a mesh filter (more often 2 or 3) before the water inlet to the pump and the tablets dissolve in almost no time! So I've never seen something like that happen.

Anyway, Finish Powerball and Quantum are the best brands ever when it comes to cleaning ability! Surpassing all the other competitors like Henkel's Pril/Somat and P&G Fairy. I only found a detergent that could compete with it, it was from a smaller Italian company that I can't recall anymore, it washed great and was very cheap but when I finished it I couldn't find it anymore! It was packed in a white package with green touches all over with the iconic sparkling tall glass.

OH! As I read bog" I tought of mud and was thinking that the detergent wasn't dissolving properly and was getting into the pump blades!

Anyway, yes! It does suds a lot in my machine, once, with a load of glassware and silverware only, that needed "refreshing" and the machine started leaking foam! I called Rekitt-benkiser and they told me not to use the prewash if the load was not soiled or to deactivate the inbuilt softener. That happened only once as I used the eco-cycle that does a cold prewash before the mainwash instead of the delicate cycle.

Brent I use them... and every dishwasher I use them in unless very dirty dishes will make the pumps on machines slow down and    cause foeming.

In my former job we would have to say with euro washers mainly Bosch... to break them in half because of such low water use they would foem in the sump and had bad rinses.

But they clean the dishes really well.

I use them for really heavy soiled pots & pans and fatty dishes.

But daily driving dishwasher powdor is Cascade complete & Cascade with Dawn with phosphates I have 14 Boxes left, and bought 7  Finish Quantum Boxes which this store was going out of buissness for 2.00 a pack.

A good price.

Finish and Amway's new Dish Drops tablets are the only modern detergent that I have found that can even clean dishes. I've never seen foam coming out of the dishwasher or heard any noises that sounded unusual.

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: medium;">Thanks for the feedback Darren!</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: medium;"> I have been only using one tab for the main wash.  As I have said they wash very well.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: medium;">I have been very fare to the new dishwasher detergents...testing them all.  The only one that I can say has let me down has been the new Cascade.  It was the worst as far as the white film crap.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: medium;">Let's see about the rest.

I have a stash of original Electrasol 3 in 1 tabs with phosphates, I have Finish all in 1 tabs with phos...I have All in 1 tabs non phos...I have Finish Quantum tabs with phosphates, and Quantum tabs without phosphates  and none seem to  cause the motor to bog down during the wash  I don't think I've opened it during the wash so don't know if there are a lot of suds.. but the sound of the machine doesn't seem to change.  I usually wash completely full and soiled loads when using these  tabs so that might be the reason for no impact.  If I have a smaller or  lighter soiled load and want to use a tab I use 1/2 Miele tab which does a good job.  Next time I use a Finish tab I will open the Dw during the wash and have a look.

Finish 3-n-1 phosphate tablet

Ran a very light soiled load this morning using a Finish 3-n-1 phosphate tablet.  I opened the door after 20 minutes into the wash. The water was hot but there was no foam.  This was a lightly soiled load and the wash only lasted 9 minutes more before it ended.

Froth. Froth, & More Froth

Posted many times my experiences with Electrasol tabs, both with and without "powerball". Each created quite allot of froth often even at only 1/2 tablet. This is one of the reasons one never bothered again after our stash was completed.

Would often hear our poor Kenmore portable's motor groan under the strain of pushing all that foam around, which one assumed could not be a good thing.

Cannot comment on the recent "Finish" versions, as again never went back.

I use the Finish Powerball in my Maytag, and havne't had or heard of any groaning on it.   Been super pleased with the cleaning results it offers!
