Was searching for dishwashing pacs at work, and I stumbled across the Finish Quantumatic Automatic Dishwashing system. And being a sucker for new items, I bought it. Has anybody tried it/seen it yet?

Have seen Finish Quantum Tablets in stores, but haven't tried them.

They came in 7th, after six variations of Cascade, in Consumer Reports' tests (August 2009). Finish Quantum scored quite competitively with most Cascade products. Other Finish products scored significantly lower than the Quantum tablets.

The two highest scoring detergents were:
1. Cascade Complete Pacs (score of 89)
2. Cascade Complete Liquid (score of 82)
3-6 Various Cascade products (scores of 80-81)
7. Finish Quantum (score of 78)

US Cascade = UK Fairy?

Just a question but Is Cascade the equivilant of U.K Fairy Active Bursts? Made by Proctor and Gamble?

Do they come in a resealable plastic pack, with capsules of powder covered in a plastic film that dissolve on contact with the water.

I wouldn't be suprised that Finish Quantum didn't score very well, they are rubbish and overpriced.

I'm not sure if our Cascade is the U.S. equivalent to the U.K.'s Fairy brand. Cascade is, indeed, made by Proctor & Gamble, and it's their flagship brand. There are many variations of the product.

At the top of the Cascade brand is the "Cascade Complete" line, which is available in gel, powder, or pac form. It is the pac pictured on the right.

From the middle of the Cascade line is the pac pictured on the left. "With the grease fighting power of Dawn": Dawn is a popular blue-colored dishwashing liquid (or "washing up liquid" as you might call it) in the U.S. I'm sure it's not the same formula as regular Dawn, or there would be suds pouring out of the machine.
