First line dried laundry of 2022

It was 30°F with the windchill in the teens yesterday and 20-30 mph winds, but I did manage to at least line dry our bedsheets.  They smelled so heavenly when I got into bed last night. Everything looks quite wind whipped because of the strong gusts we had all day.

The colder the better for good smelling sheets.  Did you use the blue or the lemon Wausau detergent? 

 

I had to remove all the lines from our T-posts last year after a bad (90mph) windstorm brought down some branches last July.  One snapped one of the five lines so I took the rest down as there were some broken branches still in the tree that eventually came down.  In the fall, we took down the two huge trees so now my clotheslines will have full sun -- and the prairie winds.  Haven't had a chance to put them up yet this year, hope to do that in the next couple of weeks.

Greg, I used Sears orange box detergent.  I'm completely out of Wausau detergent at the moment.  I need to restock ASAP.  W<span style="font-family: inherit; color: var(--primary-text); font-size: 0.9375rem; background-color: var(--comment-background); font-weight: 400;">e bought the clothesline from a friend of mine quite a few years ago. He was a salesman for a company from Medford, WI that also manufactures cattle stalls. They are made from the same metal and coated with the same anodizing. They are also very popular with the Amish. Ours is 20 feet long with 7 lines.</span><span style="font-family: inherit; color: var(--primary-text); font-size: 0.9375rem; background-color: var(--comment-background); font-weight: 400;">  Because of its U-shape it can be moved anywhere in the yard.  </span>

yunz, and I haven't seen so much line drying since I was last in the Burgh!

I still have not bothered to try to hang out. With all this crappy weather we get I will have to use my dryer and racks for wash for the near future. Last year we got August for the only real decent month and I hope this year is not another repeat.

We've had a mixed weather bag of late. Some beautiful sunny days followed by raw, wet ones. So I have been able to hang laundry fairly often but not consistently. But since it is still April in lower New England, not expecting much more than that. Then of course we have the season of "green dust" where that layer of pollen covers everything so have to be careful about hanging then also. Really isn't until June when we have consistent line drying conditions.
