Well I finally let hubby touch my dishwashers. I just had abdominal surgery so I can't really get in there and fuss with it. LOL and I can't stand and wash dishes either so my NEED for a dishwasher is great right now haha!!

Probably best to err on the safe side and just get and install the lower wash arm support for the 21. You can play with the 18 later when you're feeling up to it. It ain't going anywhere ;>)

Maybe fixed?

I let hubby in to see my 18 LOL and if you remember this is what it looked like. I had all the pieces and he said "Well why can't you JB Weld the piece back in to place?" I said "Golly gee Ward why don't you give that a try"

So he went and got some sort of JB Kwik set stuff and had it all back together looking purdy within 10 mins. It says it has to cure for 6 hours. Hubby says he will install it tomorrow and give it a test run. Everything else looked good besides that broken shaft looking thingy. He also swapped out the arm off the 21 and installed on the 18 for me as well.

Uhh.... It's too late now but I would have used regular JB Weld to fix almost anything, especially something that's going to be under that much hot water pressure, and just wait out the 24+ hours for it to set. You probably would have got a much better outcome.

If it comes apart again try the regular kind. The 21 arm is really not supposed to be in an 18. Good luck.

The kwik said it was rated at 2424 PSI and temps to 230F and fully cured at 4-6 hours. It will cure for more than 24 before hubby get back home and installs it :)

I was referring to the upper wash arm like stevet had suggested

" install the upper rack from the 21B into the 18 so you can take advantage of the larger upper washarm to get the wares in the corners cleaner than your 18 arm ever did."

Sorry that sounded cranky... I didn't mean for it to :)

I am not thinking 100% clearly yet. Darn pain meds make me foggy.

Oh yeah, you did say the upper arm. Sorry. Oh, now I see. You were referring to another thread. I didn't look at those threads you posted earlier because you didn't make them links. Didn't feel like copying and pasting to see what they were. Was just going on what you said here.

what's the latest?

Is the epoxy holding up? If it doesn't, then I may be able to find a used support in my stash to keep you going on that 18. Let me know.

Yep

Its holding up well :-) I really need to find the time to read the manual to really get a good understanding of its capabilities.
