but I have lately began some interesting projects as a consultant where I am blending period detail with modern elements. My last project was designing library cabinets for an 1840 house that had to look like they had always been there yet have modern computer systems built in and hidden from view. I didn't charge enough for that one and the client would not let me photograph it when it was completed.
I have decided to build in a china cupboard in my dinning room and try to blend it in and make it look like it was always there. The guy who built the house is buried nearby so last week I went to visit the grave and left a stone there and told him I remembered the cupboard he meant to put in and forgot.
My bathroom is turning out to look like a Victorian whore house actually. It was a porch that was enclosed when plumbing was added to the house.
