What's remarkable and unique about the 1968 TOL is that they inserted translucent plastic areas for the black/white text areas of the control panels so when the machine was operating, the fluorescent lighting for the canopy light also shone through those areas making the control panel text pop; very cool and very user friendly. AFAIK, that was the only year they did this, after 1968 they reverted to ordinary opaque embossed metal zones on the metal panel:
