My Dart with its 318 with a performer intake and 9800 Thermoquad will usually start within 3 cranks and go immediately to on choke fast idle. The 9800 is a aftermarket Carter Thermoquad with the smaller 800 cfm bore and a electric choke.
I've done a few other tweaks to make what it is as efficient and quick as it can be for what it is. Right now its retired and needs fresh gas and a carb rebuild or at least the accelerator pump fixed.
Mine has walker dynomaxes on it and 21/4 exhuast with a crossover. It's mostly up to 340 specs now except for the original engine.
Car sounds nice, but they sound nice stock too.

Best cranking car I ever had

Was a 62 Plymouth Fury,,Polyspherical 318 with a Stromberg 2 barrel,..No matter how hot or cold the weather was, mash the gas pedal 1 time to the floor and turn the switch,it never turned over more than 3 times, usually one or 2 and it was running....Wonderful old car, I drove it to StLouis and back in 96 and it used less than 1/2 quart of oil, not bad for 34 years old. and it had REAL power steering and brakes, not like the stuff today, the very tip of your toe would stop it and 1 finger would turn it....and I mean you pinkie finger!
