You are the right person for this forum. I think you just maybe chose a machine which, not for nothing, ranks as the Tragimatic...the hardest thumper to work on of all times.
As for the mentality on Imperial, well...there is a very strong desire in this forum to concentrate on the exact, precise, expressed venue. Yes, a very small number of the queens here go out of their way to be nasty, but just ignore them. Ninety-nine percent of this forum is sweet, patient, helpful and friendly - just like Robert.
So let it roll off your back, stick around and learn - Robert's decision to let new people participate was enormously wise. It's what has kept us alive and going.
Oh, and, I've been keeping count. Since the flood, our thumper (and she's PANK!) has washed 37 loads of the ickiest, filthiest, mud and concrete and paint and general ickiness encrusted stuff cleaner than clean...and those are just the loads I've run. My partner has run at least as many, if not more. Not one single problem, not one single torn anything or ripped off button.
