Hi Ken,
I am going to try, as that was my thought from the outset. Going to take goat farmer's advice about which direction to turn it in. Hopeful I may be able to retrieve on of the others, intact. Will take photos and post when I have them,

If there is one of those broken near the front, would you be comfortable with taking off the plastic trim piece, that goes between the liner, and the cabinet? You might be able to retrieve a broken piece that way.

 However, that vintage plastic trim may also be fragile, and cause more problems than you solve.

Yes I would, except they're in the back. Bummer right?
Hoping to back off of my anxiety and approach this with a solid plan. Going to try and get one of the other ones off, turning it clockwise as you advised.
As Ken said if I can get one out intact, it will solve the mystery as to what type of pin it is, and what type of shelf support maybe I can cut with a tool to make it work.
