I've got a list of detergent formats that would work here in the States.
Here they are:
1.) Henkel's Megaperls. The concentration agenda is a big thing nowadays. The Megaperls format would compliment the UltraConcentrate liquid line at Purex.
2.) P&G's Gels, Liquitabs and ActionPacs. P&G had a winner with Tide Tablets, but preferences would doom the brand. Liquitabs are better, as people use liquids more than powder and liquids are more dissolvable. Excel Gel could also be big, as it would be good on stain removal. If P&G improved the enzyme formula, it would be a hit. But they need to come out with a better bottle. ActionPacs could be popular too, as they are powder and liquid and could dissolve more stains than powder or liquid alone.
3.) Unilever's Gel Tablets. Even though Unilever got out of the US laundry biz, it could allow Sun Products to market the format in either it's Sun or Surf brands. I have used Persil Gel Tablets and they work well.
There are so many things I'd like to see, but these are the formats I would like to see on store shelves in the future in the US.
