Apologies if this has been asked before, I'm new to this forum and still figuring things out.

Up top, there is the "My Posts" section, which shows the threads I have posted in. Is there an equivalent way to bookmark, like, star, subscribe, follow, or favorite a thread (similar to other web forums) so that it shows up in the list, without going so far as to post in it?

I've found a number of posts and threads here that are hugely helpful resources. But I don't want to create a bunch of needless forum traffic and pull years old threads to the top, just to add them to my My Posts list...

Thanks

Thanks guys. Yes, browser bookmarks are an option, but they have two significant downfalls: they don't follow you across multiple devices (such as my desktop computer and phone, or someone else's device when you want to log in and check), and they don't show you when a thread you are following has had new replies. :-/

I have the paid membership, but I don't think that helps here either... The biggest reason (at least for me) to subscribe to threads is because you will forget about them, and recalling what to even search for a year or more down the road is going to be a challenge. Especially if it is a random tangential comment you liked in a thread that otherwise isn't about a subject you would normally follow...

Perhaps an alternate path: the "checkrate/like" feature... Can you see a list of which posts you have liked?

Welcome!

I don't see any other method besides the one you described in the original post, and yes, it's unfortunate that you'd have to revive an old thread and post something superfluous in order to make it easily accessible like a "favorite" designation.

I don't remember if our webmaster Robert (unimatic1140) has been asked about this feature in the past.  If it would require a lot of coding work, it might currently be on a to-do or wish list, as this site is subject to the amount of spare time he has to devote to it.

Yes that is a feature that I thought about, however it would be an enormous amount of work, not making it work so much but reformatting the both the desktop and mobile site for the new button and making everything fit. We are kind of out of space with this current design.

When I have some spare time (which wont be during the busy summer) I will think about how to implement that.
