I'm in love

R12?

While R-12 is stable, inert, and effective, it is also long-out of production. Try something like R-134a. R-12 is so unbearably expensive, yet R-134a is affordable and I have found it works quite well. I switched my 1987 Volvo over t R-134a from R-12 and am quite pleased with its performence. When I made the switch, it was cheaper to convert the system to R-134a than it was to get R-12, now R-12 is even more expensive.

Nice fridge, I wish I had your luck,
Dave

well i found out that if i want to reuse the orig guts il have to stay with r12 but thats cool i just have to find some sort of way to fill the system.. but when there is a will there is a way

I found a similar model to yours about 25 years ago at a thrift store and couldn't resist it. I already had a monitor top and the '39 Westinghouse that I still own, so gave the Frigidaire to my sister for a 2nd fridge. She ended up letting a neighbor use it and for whatever reason the machine eventually failed. I really like these models and wish you the best of luck in getting yours running.

If you know a Commercial Refrigerator repair man, Contact them, they are more likely to know about the belt driven system and how to refill and ck for leaks, I have a repair man here in Pinconning that works on our Roof units and he got my 1932 Monitor top running again, ( he said the Compressor was stalled) all I know is that it works and it only cost me $20.00 for repair, Good Luck

Nice lookin' Frigidaire...

Hey, christfr, my father once had a manual for 1934 model Frigidaire refrigerators--and the one you have looks fairly similar to the ones in the manual. Unfortunately, he got rid of the manual some years ago...damn, bro', I wish I could help you more on that...

well am workin on cleaning the guts and i found some r12 on ebay so when that gets here ill work of finding a way to charge the system and see if it works or not.. cant hurt to try.. never would have thought about comerical repair guys thats a good idea.. and hey kim email travis im almost sure there is another frigidaire in that garage

Dont waste ur money on the R12, it will most likely leak down again if you dont find the rteason it leaked in the 1st place. 134A dude. Although I have quite a bit of old R12 in the cans that we all used to buy at Wal Mart at 77 cents a can. I will never sell them for one day I may need them for an old antique like yours. LOL.
