Last Wednesday extreme downpours overwhelmed the storm sewers. These shots are from the local newspaper. At this elementary school they had to use rowboats to evacuate the children. It all happened so quick.

what a terrible thing to happen, glad for your sake it wasn't more than an inch..but that's bad anyway. Your Flair stoves are beautiful by the way.
 
Rocky, glad y'all are basically ok. That elelmentary school scene is truely frightening. I've heaerd about collapsing foundation walls from a chat friend of mine in Toledo. They had heavy rain this summer for a number of weeks. He had a similar scenario--his block was pretty much ok, two blocks away, houses with collapsing foundation, one washed right off the foundation, and at least one I remember had to be condemmed and torn down.
