I would love to hear which free and clear detergents are your favorites and why. I have an LG front loader so it would have to play nice with an HE machine. I tried Tide Free but I felt like it left a chemical smell behind. Anyone else notice that?

Hi, I use arm and hammer free and clear liquid. I like it better than the all free liquid because I feel it doesn't fade the colors and darks like all does. Also, arm and hammer leaves the clothes feeling softer. I only use unscented dryer sheets. I stopped using downy unscented because I found it spots the clothing. I do have to pretreat stains and rinse in out in the sink before I wash.
Good luck!

I have used All Free and Clear on numerous occasions and haven't ever been impressed with it. The Tide free and clear seems to work ok. Actually you might try tide free and clear powder. I have a box of it I'm about to crack open. It's a little harder to find but it'll be interesting using unscented powder for the first time.

We use All Free & Clear because it's the only detergent I can use without activating my allergy to laundry detergents. We've used both the liquid and powdered versions. I found that the liquid version rinses out better than the powdered version does. You'd think it would be the other way around. ALL F&C cleans our clothes to our satisfaction. It's not Persil but it does get the job done.

I have used Tide Free Powder for a long time on my asthmatic child's bedding/clothing, I thought it did a great job but like Christine I noticed a chemical scent, a friend suggested All free powder and I've been very happy with it, everythings clean and fresh smelling. Cheryl

Thanks!

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I will have to try them! A friend of mine says that she saw Tide Ultra Stain Release in a "Free" version at Target. It wasn't the usual free and clear. Has anyone tried it? If so, did it leave a chemical smell? I didn't see it at Walmart, so I don't know if Target is the only place that carries that variety at the moment.
