This neat lookin HiFi stereo. Not sure of the brand, but the label at the bottom of the left speaker looks like it might be a G.E. . A co-worker sent this picture to me and said that it's about a 1958-1961 vintage

Who makes the TT? Looks like VM. It has the feeler for 12" but I don't see the pop-up button next to the TT to sense 10" or 7". Remember the VM's witht the button IN the turntable? Wild.

It's definitely a GE. The changer has "Vacu-Matic" or something like that. It's basically a little tiny vacuum cleaner in the cabinet with the end of the hose next to the needle. Was supposed to suck up the dust off the record while playing it.

World's smallest Hoover?

Good home...

Hey....I think I'd like to have that, mainly because it has record storage~! If nothing else, I can keep some vinyl inside it and use it for visual display.

I've never heard of that vacuum method, Veg, and I'd really like to check that out.

Holla from Hollywood.

The changer was made by VM

That is a VM changer. The model here has the full size platter so there is no popup visible to size 7 and 10 inch records. There is a small dot on the outer edge of the platter that pushes a metal strip attached to the bottom of the platter down to hit the popup sensor. The popup sensor and the trip arm at the 10 O clock position work in tandem to size 7, 10 and 12 inch records.
This is a nice unit. I hope someone can give it a safe home.

VM vs Collaro

The VM has a slick, effortless system of sensing record size. The record drops and the needle just knows where to go. The Collaro is more "rube goldberg" in that the tonearm goes up and touches the next record to guage the setdown point. Both are fun and unique.
