Frigidaire Affinity W/D maintenence - when?

I realize this is still a bit premature seeing as how I just got my new W/D in November of '12, but still, it never hurts to ask.

When should the pump filter on the frontload washer (FAFW3801LW) be cleaned in order to avoid a no-spin/drain situation? Keep in mind that the machine has to be dismantled in order to do this otherwise routine operation.

Also, when should the dryer be cleaned on the inside? I clean the lint filter after every load. While I'm in there, what else needs looking at? I know that this model (FAQE7001LW) has four rollers instead of the older rear bearing design. Do these require any attention?

we have 2006 Frigidaire pair

I've never cleaned out the washer pump and the dryer and exhaust line get cleaned about once a year.

As was mentioned, the pump in a front loader shoudn't be cleaned unless the machine is having trouble draining, that means a blockage with limescale, dirt or some other debris like torn socks or underwear usually, coins aren't unusual too!
Anyway I must say that in all my life I never was in the situation of needing to clean the drain pump of one of my machines!
