Frigidaire Pulsators - "Energy Rings"

<span style="font-family: 'courier new', courier; font-size: 12pt;">I started it in Shopper to ask for old pulsators but it morphed into the work I have been doing with the pulsators. To date I have recreated the 56-64 pulsator reusing the metal flange out of old pulsators, (reason I'm asking for old ones).  </span>
 

<span style="font-family: 'courier new', courier; font-size: 12pt;">#1 is an original Frigidaire pulsator. </span></span>
<span style="font-family: 'courier new', courier; font-size: 12pt;">#2 is my copy reusing the original metal flange. Finally worked out the correct color, sheen and rubber firmness. </span></span>

Differences in pulsators

<span style="font-family: 'courier new', courier; font-size: 12pt;">Ben sent me an email explaining the pulsator differences awhile back. I'll copy it here for AW posterity.

“Bud, here's the scoop on the 1947-1951 and 1952-1954 pulsators.

The 47-51 pulsators are a three piece assembly - an upper aluminum top, rubber ring, and an aluminum cup on the bottom, and all three pieces come apart as separate items. I do have one but at the moment it's up in Minnesota at a friends house. The black rubber ring (5433557) is the same black and sheen as the later black caps. It seems the black rings survived but they are susceptible to cupping along the edges.

In 1952 when GM introduced the WO-65-2, they created the first one piece pulsator - 5417486. This can be used on the 1949 WL-64 with the "modernized" tub, which is the same tub as the WO-65 and WO-65-2.

And, in 1955 GM redesigned the base of the tub which required the new 5432199 pulsator we all know and love. The redesigned tubs have a taller base/pulsator, so if you try to use a 5432199 in a WO-65 machine the pulsator will slam against the bottom of the tub, and the 5417486 doesn't come down far enough on the later machines to properly move clothes.

It seems mostly that folks run into issues trying to find the later black version of the 5432199 for the 1955 WV-65 or a grey 5432199 for the '56-'64 machines.” </span>[this post was last edited: 7/1/2018-11:35]

If everyone who wants/needs this pulsator, please chime in so I can get an idea of the actual number.

I would sign up for a couple of the 52-54 pulsators/energy ring. ( mentioned this in the other thread but will get it in here too.)

I'm wondering if you would consider manufacturing some of the old rubber filter-pan mounts that were used on most of the Solid-Tub early Filter-Flo's? I have at least one that I could send you to use as a model. They were grey, pink, and turquoise. The early Filter-Flo flumes also would be wonderful too because so many of them needed to be replaced.

Baja, I'm interested BUT ......

There's always a "but"!

I would be interested in making a part that people would need the most. A part that a lot of people would chime in saying they need one as well. I worry about making molds of parts that would not be used often. The mold material is very expensive and would require people buying the part to recoup the $$ it takes to make the mold.

Maybe a good time for people to chime in and vote on parts that are NLA and needed the most??

REMARKABLE and SPECTACULAR work Bud!!! What an AMAZING job!!! Never would expect it to be done...SERIOUSLY exciting!!! I had a thought Bud, since the 1955 to 1964 3 Ring Pulsator (diaphragm) agitator can easily rollover 5 pairs of denim/jeans and or 7 pairs of work pants ALONE,...suppose it's combined with the 1-18 Jet Cone(s). It looks as though the 3 Ring pulsator is TALLER and WIDER than the Jet Cone diaphragm. Wouldn't it ENHANCE the turnover ability incredibly...working together with the Jet Cone(s)? BTW, the pulsator diaphragm in PIC 3 is practically the same color as the 1-18 Jet Cone agitator CONES. What do you think?
