frigidaire spin tube dishwasher pics

this is the most unique dishwasher i have ever bought. a spin tube frigidaire with a date of nov. 1st. 1963 stamped on the pump! what a nostalgic, historic, and tragic month nov. of 1963 was!

i bought this on e bay several weeks ago for about $129.00 and drove to and back from chicago yesterday to get it.

simple control

dial mounted on a creamy yellow colored door.

this door does not even lock

it simply closes and opens! no locking handle anywhere!

the most unique thing about it

is the absence of a spray arm on the bottom, replaced by the spin tube between the racks.

arm on the top of the tub. this feeds off the main line to the spin tube for it's water supply.

showing the main water line from the pump which is a hose about 1 1/2 inches in diam. smaller line to top sprayer feeds off of it.

the fill water line also comes in thru the back which i have never seen before.

this area was dirty but later cleaned up very well. due to all the hoses and intakes coming in thru the back i was careful not to lay this one down on it's backside like i usually do.

this screen sets directly over

the pump intake in bottom of tub. it is actually 2 screens and the top fine particle screen is sucked down on top of the course plastic screen during the washing phase.

it rises back up during the drain phases so food particlesd can escape down drain. pretty unique!

in place without top fine particle screen. top screen rides on that spindle using a spring to give it it's up and down bounce.

plastic device to the right with the 4 screws is a pressure switch water feed.

this is pump before cleanup. it has a cast iron pump housing but the impeller is plastic.

definate water leakage around that pressure switch funnel that bolts to tub bottom with 4 screws.
