For the past few ironing sessions now my Frigidare ironer has been misbehaving.

When speed is set to "low", the roller sometimes stops and there seems to be some sort of "thumping" sound. Not sure if the gears are caught, stuck, worn, or belt is trying to move something, etc. After awhile the roller will resume turning, but sooner or later the fun begins again. This only happens when using "low" speed, when set to "high" the roller goes on as normal.

Have not been able to find one single GM/Frigidare repair manual that covers their ironers. Do suspect however GM sourced the unit from another manufacturer as they share similar design and features from other brands have seen.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

My first idea was that the unit is lacking or needs to have it's gear oil changed. But do not see any way for draining and or filling. There is a screw underneath that has some sort of oil dripping (slowly, very, very slowly), from whatever it is holding together, but without a service manual or other proper information don't want to mess with anything.

Sorry cant help with this BUT

I was interested to see someone who uses an roller iron I just got a new PAFF steam roller and getting used to it slowly but any tips would be very welcome the one problem I do have is the poppers on duvet covers, Must people dont seem to iron anything let alone the bedding, A guy i walk my dog with thought I had gone mad when I said I iron my bedding and had bought a roller iron to speed up the process. I also tried a flat bed but that seemed like hard work, I also have a luna star iron thats good as well but a headache to get serviced in the UK.
