Frigidare's dishwasher main pump is a Aquarium pump?

I am replacing a motor in my best friends Frigidare's Precision wash D.W. There is a drain pump and the main wash pump.I was floored when I pulled the main motor.For one it very small and two It's a Aquarium pump.I mean real sealed magdrive pump when I turned the rotor by hand and has the exact feel of my Iwaki and Eheim pumps for mine.That magnet rotor they have.No wonder Frigidares can't clean,my Kenmore has a 1/3 Hp induction motor and Frigidares use these.When the engineers designed them I wonder who came up with that idea.

Frigidaire dishwashers have had a reputation for not tackling very dirty food soil since the beginning of their existence. I mean, the manual says to rinse starchy foods such a rice and potatoes before putting dishes in the spin tube models.

I'm surprised Frigidaire hasn't the pulse thing yet

here in Europe Zanussi-E'lux dishwashers have always been known for their washing power despite of the cheap plastics quality of some series.

The latest ones have a brushless motor that pulses between low and hi speed . When in hi speed it throws a burst of water into the arms, then it slows down to allow all the (little amount of) water to go backto the sump. It's a trick to have powerful sprays even using very little water.
This system was engineered by A.E.G. ten years ago and now is shared by all euro electrolux dishwashers

Most of my friends in Brazil say I have "The Electrolux Group" mixed with my blood and the first word I said wasnt "mom" or "dad", but "Electrolux".

I always said I'm honest and this is an oportunity to show my honesty.

All the Electrolux dishwashers designed in America (North, Central and South and it includes Frigidaire and other brands too) are the worst dishwashers I've ever seen in my whole life. (And the worst was my project, please don't kill me! I tried to warn them I don't know anything about dishwashers.)

There are some European models that are fabulous and some POS too.

Fortunately in Brazil we have only the (good) european models.

Aquarium pump, that's not a surprise... I've seen things even worse happening inside the dishwashers lab AND BEING APROVED FOR PRODUCTION!!!

I can't stand my 2004 Frigidaire. If it belonged to me instead of my landlord, it would've been full of .357 holes by now. A truckload of these delivered for one Kenmore would be a great trade.

With 2 pouches of expensive detergent, it does a passable job cleaning stuff on the bottom rack. Anything on the top rack gets a layer of inexplicable white scale left behind that is extremely difficult to wash off, sometimes with bits of food from the bottom rack mixed in.

Same experience we've had with our 2007 Frigidaire Dishwasher. I have always wondered when the system switches to the upper rack spray arm, if the water is even routed through the machine's food particle filter. You can feel the grit on the outside of the glasses.

I have a Frigidare sitting in my garage right now. When I bought my house it was there. A month later it wasn't there. When I had to was the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher, and then they came out dirtier than when I put them in. It was gone.

We've got an older, probably 2001 Frigidaire Dishwasher. It's a bottom of the line model. No features, just the timer and a heated dry switch.

When we bought this house, it came equipped with all new GE appliances. Which was great...for the first year or so. Microwave went out, then the gas range went out...

We kept the Frigidaire dishwasher from our old house and it had been sitting a while. Eventually the GE Nautilus went out, so we replaced it with the Frigidaire. As far as cleaning it does a very mediocre job...so did the GE Nautilus. I suppose they are no better than the other. The few advantages the Frigidaire has over the GE is that it's wash cycles are MUCH shorter. 45 minutes tops, and that it's quieter. The GE seemed to wash and wash and wash for at least an hour or two. And it was LOUD.

Anyway, I don't have the money to get a good vintage dishwasher, so the Frigidare will have to do. I am not one to 'pre-rinse' my dishes. I just throw them in as-is. I find the Frigidaire does an ok job as long as I don't fill the dishwasher to capacity, and make sure theres room for the spray to reach everything. Also, switching from liquid to Cascade powder detergent helps out too.

So the Frigidaire's not great, but it does wash your dishes...most of the time.
