I Hope This Thread Hasn't Been Forgotten

I would still like to have a wash-in (as would everyone else, i'm sure) if at all possible. In regards to Rich, since he says he can't leave his home, may I propose that we divide the time into two parts: Have the first half of the meet at his place, and then have the second half of the meet at Jetcone's. By doing this, nobody needs to feel left out, but we will also be able to see Jetcone's fabulous collection.

Let me know what your thoughts are on this.

I Hope This Thread Hasn't Been Forgotten

Hi Evan,

No, it hasn't been forgotten. I am excited by the fact that two of us are willing to host a gathering. I think that we can do two separate ones to cut travel time for people. I look forward to seeing Jetcone's collection and will do everything in my power to attend BUT, right now, in my life....nothing is definite :-)

I was thinking about possibly having something in early March. Does this sound good to everyone? Jon (Jetcone), does this interfere with your plans?

BTW...I do have a little more than just a non-working (will work some day) Lady Kenmore and a couple of vac's :-)( Here is a teaser, Evan. I have a vac that I have to wipe John's drool off of when he visits!!!) It will be fun!

I look forward to meeting all of you!!!

Hi,

Thanks for the offer of help. I have to pick out a date and I will post a separate message titled appropriately.

I don't know if I would be able to truly title it a wash in as I only have two collectable washers. I will leave the "wash-in" for Jetcone (or anybody else for that matter), who I have been in contact with. What this would be more of is a meeting of collectors of all sorts of vintage appliances. I happen to mainly collect vintage toasters, coffee pots/makers (vacuum pots included), vacuum cleaners and several other early electrical gadgets. OH and don't forget the 800 antique/vintage typewriters! If you want to check some of them out please feel free to visit my partner and my website at http://typewriter.rydia.net/.

This will be a lot of fun and, of course, I expect that you will all bring some of your treasures for "show & tell" :-) I guess I could have some dirty rugs for a vac-in!!! LOL

I'll keep you all posted!

Happy collecting,
Rich

Rich and other potential hosts:

Should I be invited, I will be glad to attend, even if major travel is involved.

Have no fear. I am a gentleman in public.
(Well, at least when I am not on my own turf! LOL)

Rich, I personally look forward to giving you a needed respite from your care-giving.

WELL!!!??? Toggle, if you and Ray can say "I park the car in the yard" three times without pronouncing an "R" sound then you may come!!!! You do need to blend in!! LOL

I guess that will be the only initiation THOUGH I am now fascinated with the tu-tu idea, Ray :-)

This will be fun!!!!!
Rich

I vote matching tu-tus!!!

When is this shindig? I need to primp my appliances! Ray, you better come too!

Tu Tu's

Hey Guys, The Tu Tu was an initiation for the Arizona wash in that someone, (I will not mention who) decided upon.

I think we needed some laughs here. i think the winter is getting everone down.

I cannot imagine myself being over 6' 2" big shoulders long legs in tights and a tutu?

ROFL LOL

You guys are the greatest. You gotta let me know when you can come out to the Jersey (or how we say it (Joisey) LOL or NYC area. I am 30 min from NYC.

Take care

Ray

Tu Tu

Now Rich.... If it is at your house, you get to pick the color of the Tu Tu. Remember, I have silver gray hair.

Take Care

The SILVER FOX. LOL ROFL

Snack Fairy

Angus, Well actually, the TU TU started a few weeks before that. However, it keeps coming back to haunt me. I was in another post with a bunch of middle age overweight guys wearing tu tu's for a Swatch ad on a bus in New York. Then two days later, while I was eating my supper, the Nabisco snack fairy commercial came on. Well.... I started laughing so hard, I almost choked on my dinner. LOL

I guess this is an omen

we have a date!!!

t's official!!!! After corresponding with JON "Jetcone", I found out that he will be hosting a wash-in in the future but he has several washers to fix before he can host (I can't wait to see his collection) SOOOOOOO! I will be glad to host a gathering/meeting for all of you vintage appliance people out there. You DON'T need to be from New England to join us!!!!!

I am going to start a new thread titled "New England Wash In" and I will post all the details. Get out your calendars it's going to be a blast !!!
