Hi Louis, The advantages and differences between these two different transmissions that MT used in their helical drive washers has been discussed at great length on this site.
Both designs are completely interchangeable so from above the outer tub they are the same.
The conscience of people on this site [ that have both designs SXS ] is the orbital transmission equipped washers [ especially ] with the load sensor agitator works better at turning over large loads and less clothing damage-wear etc.
