Hello everybody. I was wondering what's inside a balance ring of a front load washer from whirlpool/maytag, GE, Frigidaire/Electrolux, lg, Samsung etc. etc. Which do you think is the best? I noticed that the drive systems on front loaders differ. For example, whirlpool and maytag have their alpha series. I wonder what kind GE has. Thank you all.

balance ring liquid

never investigated myself, but I have heard some washers have water in the balance ring, while other washers use a calcium chloride solution in the balance ring as that won't freeze ad is heavier than straight water.BTW,sometimes farmers will fill their tractor tires with calcium chloride solution for greater weight and traction :)

Whirlpool/Maytag/GE are currently using a combination of 1 or 2 balance rings filled with steel ball bearings in conjunction with accelerometers.
