You guys have converted me from a top load fan to a front load lover in less than a week. I love the new Neptune. It is so quiet. It's like comparing (in vacuum cleaner terms) a Royal Dirt Devil to the sound of an older model G Electrolux!I like the new dryer too. I hated the why the Whirlpool dryer always was bunching the sheets. Many times I had to go back and restart the Whirlpool dryer and rearrnage the load so it would dry completely. The Maytag Neptune dryer actually seems smaller that the Whirlpool dryer but it is more user friendly and of course I love the porcelain top. Thanks for all the advise I got from the forum. I went to the glass store yesterday and ordered plate glass cut to fit tops of the machines and protect the tops. How is that for a REAL appliance lover! I looked yesterday and the labels from Maytag are still on the top of my 806 Dryer after 33 years. Thanks for all your advise. I feel like I have come home with my new Maytags.

As stated in the other thread, I enjoy the Neptunes. They wash well and are virtually silent. And it does a real hot/warm wash, the way it should be.

Boy I regretted leaving those behind last year for the renters to use. The Kenmore 80 series washer was way too loud, it would make clothing look like it was riddled with machine gunfire, and would shake the house if loaded incorrectly with too many jeans. Not to mention the hot would be warm after each load, and warm would be tepid after a while, according to the manual.

I also hated the Kenmore Elite Dryer. It was a rattletrap and I had to constantly stop and see if heavy items like towels and jeans were COMPLETELY dry before heading into wrinkle guard cycle.

Thank goodness were back to the Neptunes.

Oh, one more thing

The Neptune Dryer dries clothing very fast. No fussing around to see if everything is COMPLETELY dry before heading to the Press Care mode.

Good choice on the Neptunes! Mine have been excellent! No quirks, nothing special to tell you about them,no work arounds about them. Just enjoy them as they are......
