I may be in the wrong forum here, but it would only be a year or two off, so bear with me. In the mid to late 1980's, Sears sold a small front loader for a short time. It was not marketed as portable; it was intended to be permanently hooked up. This was years before they started selling their rebadged Westinghouse units and it did have a stainless steel tub. Anyone else remember this one and/or any info on it? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks. Todd

In 1983, I got one as a surprise birthday gift.It was made by Zanussi and I had mine for about 6 years. it worked great for me but those friends of mine who bought one did not take as good care of it and rust as well as mildew formed on the dispenser tray frame as well as the door frame. The most common problems with them were the capacitor failing in ythe washer and the dryers were just not strong enough to handle 3 or more loads a day and would conk out by the middle of the second load overheating and shutting down. The most similar models current are the Maytags. Theirs are made(or were made)by Eurotech and/or Samsung.I was not that fond of either brand's units in the 24" style. They look nice but aren't real great in performance.
