Well I went to a goodwill today expecting to find nothing,

But twas I wrong! Lookie what I found!

An old 70s Osterizer blender base and some other stuff!

All I need is the jar and blade.

How cool. In one of my favorite colors! AVOCADO!!!!! Pictures dont do it justice. Its in my truck, and dark outside, with camera flash.

And the awesomeness doesn't stop there. My friend (the kirby guy who has over 100 kirbys alone) Found in another thrift store, a Complete SUNBEAM stand mixer!!! With 2 bowls and a variety of attachments. He says its all metal and looks 50s vintage. He says I can have it, since it was only $5.

Be proud, I can now say I have a collection of small appliances too! :D

The motor housing.

Sorry for the terrible flash distortion. Looks much better in person.

Dont have the Sunbeam yet. He took that kirby G3 Im restoring to rebuild the transmission, and when I go to pick it up, I can get the mixer.

How old is this? My grandpa has a harvest gold one, but appears a little older. I presume late 60s, or 70s.

Oster used that bank of buttons with orange and white color scheme for at least a few years.  My mom had a similar model but it wasn't a "Marquis."  I think hers was late 60's vintage.

My favorite ACE Hardware carries replacement containers and most other associated parts for Oster blenders.  They look more or less the same today as the original for your base would have.  A plastic one would be fine, as those were commonly found on Osterizers from that period.  Only the higher end models would have come with a a glass container.

New Blender for Jar

Hey Brandon, at Target they have a $17.99 new Osterizer blender that has the plastic jar. It might just be cheaper to buy that one for its jar. IIRC, the model is a 10 speed white plastic job. Good luck, Tony

I much prefer the glass container, as it does not absorb odors like the plastic. This is especially important if you use it for something containing onions or garlic. The Waring we had many years ago had a plastic jar, and it also got cloudy and developed some cracks.

The Oster I got about 5 years ago has both glass and stainless steel containers, plus a small glass jar.

Oster should make their new plastic blender jars from a "tritan" plastic like VitaMix and Blendtec. The plastic Oster used was as fragile as glass-you dropped it and it broke. The Tritan and Lexan jars you can practically drive your car over the jar and it wouldn't break.

Alrighty. My friend sent me some pictures of the Sunbeam he got for me!

Will be picking it up in a few days.

It looks to be a model 9. Its the first model with the new red logo.

Looks pretty good for late 40s!

Nice Mixer

The photo you posted is of a Model 10 Sunbeam Mixmaster. Model 10 mixmasters were manufactured between 1950 and 1954.

It is an excellent machine. There is no better mixer (Sunbeam Models 10,11 and 12) for making cakes and frosting. I hope you have good luck with it.
