Lower efficiency and longer life

Im 2017 we installed new heating and cooling. Both were not the highest efficiency, not only to save some on initial cost, but also longer life. Hopefully we will not need another furnace. Actually surprising that they even are allowing gas fired furnaces and not mandating heat pump systems for everyone.

I have electric heat. It's 100% efficient, doesn't require venting, gas pipes, special installation, and... oh yeah, it doesn't E-X-P-L-O-D-E.

Electricity can explode, it’s called a arc flash.
