That's not a HOH dryer, it's Stream-of-Heat big load. Looks like a DG106
how confusing... a SOH with the aqua panel?
Early production models of the SOH still had the Aqua trimmed panel. The Gold started about a year later.
No, the gold panel started with the HOH dyers in March of 1975 and are considered "series 1" models. The big load dyers weren't introduced until sometime into 1976 (July?).
This is the second from the BOL model and it had a plastic console. Plastic console machines never got the the "sun-glow" gold trim.

Actually ALL MT CD washers and dryers had molded plastic consoles [ whether they had the blue or gold paint at the bottom of the panel ] the last few years except the TOL lighted panel 806 and 808 washers and dryers.

My Maytag DE406 that was purchased in late summer of '73 (along with the A207 washer) has the Aqua trim, and is cast metal for certain. When did they switch to plastic consoles? Was it a running change made during the 08 series, or toward the end of the 06?
