Chicago Prices

Still at $2.65 here in the Chicago suburbs. :(

Heard it was down to $2.09 in St Louis.

Oklahoma....

Went to buy powerball tickets 2 nights ago. It was at 2.09 just across the bridge in Oklahoma. Here in Fort Smith Arkansas it is still about 2.35 a gallon.

Yep, I can tell the fuel prices are going back down...I95, the "highway of hell" between Richmond and D.C. has gotten a bit busier the past few weeks. I liked it right after Katrina, when fuel prices around here hit $3.50 a gallon. I-95 was starting to get reasonably peaceful!

Ours is hovering just under $3, which is good, given we haven't seen under $3 since last winter. I was not, however, aware that the prices had fallen that much in the midwest. Maybe ours will still end up falling a bit more. Usually the differential is 20 to 30 cents.

$2.39 in Beltsville today. And with the BP pipe line shut down, too. Oh, that was going to create a real shortage for us and it was such a good ingredient to add to the justifications for the oil price increases, but brilliant as it was, it arrived on the scene just a little too late to be used to its full potential because the country started grumbling about the price of gas cutting into household spending for other items which also started going up in price because so many things use oil as an ingredient in manufacturing and everything has to be transported which uses fuel just like factories depend on gas and electricity which are also setting price records. Then as prices started rising across the board, the danger of inflation appeared on the horizon. The mood in the country was one of restlessness and disapproval of the party in power. Washington had tried the diversions, perhaps too soon, of beating up on the Queers and flag burners which didn't amount to a hill of beans so the order went out that prices were to be cut. One of the reasons that was given for the drop in the price of oil was that the Gulf Of Mexico had not seen any storms this year. That means that they were gouging us as insurance against their loss of income IF there was any disturbance like Katrina, but it's OK and fair and the nation is happy that gas prices are falling so maybe the ruling party will continue to rule. They say that a goldfish has a memory of 3 seconds. I wonder about the memory span of many of our citizens, at least the memory span of the ones that are even paying attention to what is happening around them and to them.

Nice Survey, Man

Two dollars and seventy cents at the Hamburg Mobil on Lake Shore Road (US Rte.5)

AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE CHEERING .

Gee-- how conveniently timed before the elections. How dumb do they think we are? Good God Almighty!

Since President Bush....

Has been completely blamed for the increase in gas prices, I am still waiting for word from the MSM congratulating him on getting those prices lowered!

Hmmm, MSM, where are you???? Hello? Is this mic on?

:-)

Most stations around me are down to 2.19, you can find it as low as 2.11 this morning here in the Twin Cities.

I have absolutely no doubt that W is involved somehow involved with the lowering of gas prices, maybe there is an important election coming??? :)

It is quite easy to figure out.....

Large tax cuts for oil companies = lower prices for gasoline before elections.

And after the elections, it will be time to break out the KY lube..... Because me thinks we will see a major increase in all fuel prices. Perhaps toward $5.00 per gallon.

One hand washes the other. After all, the the oil companies are "in" the White House.
