Help Support :

and if anyone cares and can, I'd sure like to see scans of the catalogues from 1960 and/or 1961!

The dishwasher selection is a little lackluster, not much difference from 1964. Maybe this was the year they introduced their undersink model and saved attention for that:

If anyone wants to see stoves, refrigerators, disposalls, hot water heaters, air conditioners or electrical switches, let me know and I'll scan them.

I'd just love to get my hands on a 24" Filter-flo. I wonder what the difference was between the 14 lb. and the 12 lb. capacity models. Probably less than 1/4- inch of tub width if I know GE.

So Many Memories,

Thank You so much for posting this catalog, In the 60's up until 1978 my Grandparents were GE and Hotpoint Dealers along with Tell City and Century Furniture and Eureka and Hoover.
1965 was the year that they bought a Victorian house right across the street from the store and of coures they had all new TOL GE appliances in early 1966.
They had until 2001 the WA-1250B and DE-1220B washer and dryer set in white. Grandma still has her SD-400B Dishwasher in Avacado which has not seen much use in the last 25 years except for big family dinners.

I would love to see the pictures of the stove and refrigerator line up including the built in ovens if you could I want to see the ads for the rest of Grandma's Kitchen.

Sam

If I remember correctly

"Daily Loads" is a Prewash, Rinse. Wash,2 Rinses and Dry
"Pots and Pans" was the Same only with 5 minutes of Dry Time. Now that I think of it, The first Prewash and 2nd Rinse were Combined which gave you a total of 2 long Washes before the 2 final rinses. Out Portable from the same vintage did not combine the first 2 washes.
"China Crystal" skipped the 1st Pre Wash and I think did not do the full fill cycle. 5 minute Dry Time
"Rinse and Hold" is the first 2 PreWash and that's that.

I would like to request stoves, please!

*WOW* VERY INERESTING!

Didn't know GE made a 24" wide washer model (60cm rather than wider). In New York City the older apartments had a 24" space allotted to the refrigerator---and it was conveninently located right next to the sink! So, in this space the washer would go!

I remember GE cam out with 24-inch wide wahswers back in the mid-90's, then those models disappeared.

Great scans Ken. I'd never heard of the 24" washers. Very cool. Saw the timeline machine once behind an appliance store. I grabbed the ramp activator out of it instead of throwing the whole machine in the Tahoe. Went back the next day and the washer was wisked away to the scraper.

Here is a scanning hint - play with cranking up the contrast after scanning with some imaging software (Photoshop, etc.). Clears up dark shadding and makes the scan look nice and bright!
