My Filter Flo has a normal and gentle spin speed setting. Should I set the spin speed on gentle to make it easier on the washer or should I just leave it on normal spin? Thanks in advance for your help.

GE filter-flo

I had a GE filter-flo pair and it was the best I've ever had. It could clean anything we threw at it, from delicate lingerie to overalls and filthy sturdy cottons. The normal/fast speed was the best for everyday laundry like regular cottons and linens especially with the ramped activator and minibasket. It was way better than what came after.

"Normal" spin speed on a GE FF is 600 RPM's. Slow by today's standards but a decent speed. Gentle spin will give your dryer too much of a workout. I'm guessing the slower speed is in the 400 RPM range.

GE Filter Flow washer spin speed

You definitely want to use low speed either for agitation or spinning as little as possible on a filter flow washer if you want the machine to last longer.

GE was about the only company that used a clutch that just slipped continuously when it was on low, we occasionally ran into customers that use low speed exclusively and the clutch would just grind itself into dust and you would have a big repair.

As others mention you also ruin your dryer using a low speed spin, and a 600 RPM spin is not fast enough to wrinkle or damage anything.
