GE Fridge color?

Hey Gang -

I don't plan on dragging this home, but curious to get an idea on the age of this pretty cool GE fridge. Cory has mentioned the name of this color before, but at the current time it escapes me. I think it was available as early as 56 or 57 - but how long did they use it until they went with a real Coppertone? A much earlier and just as cool of a GE fridge is in the works for the kitchen (more later).

I know it was on the '58 and '59 models - we had a '59 in white, and a neighbour had the same machine in that colour. Beyond that, I could not say. I didn't care for it - it looked too light and bland compared to Coppertone, which was hugely popular once it was introduced. It may not have helped that the neighbour's fridge was the only coloured appliance in her kitchen - everything else was white.

Was it fawn or doeskin?

Ben, GE made that refrigerator dates from approx 1957 thru 1959........The color is "WOODTONE BROWN"..part of GE's famous "Mix Or Match" colors

My uncle bought a brand new home around late 1961 or early 62 and it had an all GE kitchen. His bottom freezer model was this same color.
