Ad reads: " We are selling a beautiful GE P7 electric oven with stove top. There are three working burners and the front left burner appears to have a griddle feature that we cannot get to work. There is a standard sized oven on the right that works and a smaller oven on the left that works. There are also two outlets on the front of the stove that both work. There are no dents or scratches at all.

$175.."

Hans:

That one's early '70s. The clues are the oven window (introduced in '67), the rotary burner controls (early '70s) and the "arrowhead" knob on the oven door latch (earlier units used a ball-shaped knob). It also has the two convenience outlets, which were regulated out of existence in the mid-'70s. The high-quality burner knobs with their die-cast skirts and silk-screened indicia put this one somewhere around '72; these are the same knobs my J 370 30-incher has.

It's TOL and you'd be very happy with it.

So, for that matter, would I. :)[this post was last edited: 3/14/2014-05:58]

P.S.:

What would be really neat is if this range had its original aluminum burner pans like my J 370 does. I really lucked out on that.

This range would have Tilt-Lock burners, not plug-in units. If a GE range has Sensi-Temp, it's got Tilt-Lock.

Can any one help Hans out?

A relay of sorts like when I stored Sandy's range, and then John "Oldskool" brought it from Wausau to Waterloo.  It can be done, it just takes patience and planning.  The $175 price is very reasonable also.

It seems like forever....

I've been intending a trip to Charlotte to pick up a WD pair purchased from Gordon, who has so patiently held the units. If the stove could find it's way toward/near Kansas City, I'd be willing to take it to Charlotte (not sure how far that is from Mocksville?), when I head that way, hopefully this summer.

While not a complete plan, perhaps there are some other pieces that could work together. Hans is a great member of AW, as are so many people whom I've met within our network, and it would give me joy to see him obtain that super cool stove if he wants it.

Who in/near the Milwaukee area would be willing to acquire/hold the unit? Any ideas?

Open to ideas/suggestions/creativity.

John "oldskool"

Look Out, Hans!

If Tim polkanut and John oldskool are on the case, the range is as good as in your kitchen!

I'm hoping someone in the Milwaukee area or passing through it can supply the missing link in the chain!

As has been said, Hans is a sterling member of this group and if we can help him, we should!

that would be so cool.....

if somehow, everything worked out to where hans to get this beautiful stove!!!

if i was somewhere in between the connecting dots, i would definitely try to do something to help make it happen for you!!! for now, i can send "good vibes" & keep my fingers crossed for you....

i really hope things work out to where hans get this stove!!!

;o)

Sandy

I'll hazard a guess of well deserved payback for being one of AW's many founts of knowledge who freely share information and opinion making this site all the more interesting and accurate for all of us and I thank you for that.
