I am looking for owners manuals for my stove. It has pushbuttons and even thou I dont have the extras I know it come with a probe and I think one burner could be a deep fryer. Pam on retrorenovation has one like mine in her kitchen and you can look at it on her web site. Any info would be great. I am putting it in my kitchen when I retro remodel and I need help. Thank you

Drop Dead Wonderful Range

I bought one just like yours for an apartment I rented when I was just out of college. It was a dream to cook on, so easy to clean with elevated dials and pushbuttons and baked perfectly. I sold to a lady I worked with when I moved.

What do you want to know?

I'm the clown prince of Sensi-Temp: grew up with zillions of them until my Mother said, "NO MORE G*&^%%!!@##$ Sensi-Temp!!" (Males aren't the only ones who refuse to read instructions) Even I will admit that GE would have been smart to leave the sensi-temp on the 6" burner and put it in the back, not the front of the stoves. The burner with the teakettle in the illustration was replaced at least twice as it was used 700% more than any other burner on our stove. No one bothered to read the instructions on how to use the Sensi-Temp burner, so they all avoided it. Also, I'd love to meet the designer who came up with "HI, 2, 3, LO, WM" so I could ask them what the f*@k they were thinking. In fairness to Mom, it was her first electric stove(we were going to have a gas cooktop, but my Father chickened out when he started to imagine the gas pipe travelling up inside the walls three floors to our kitchen. Someday I'll tell you about the time my Grandmother decided to make a birthday cake in our oven and broiled it instead.

Nice setup. Love those cabinets!

Carefull with those pictures. Paul might just make a midnite 'cabinet liberation' run while you're gone... LOL!

Here's a shot of my 1957 GE with Sensi-Temp (looking) burner. Most of these were fairly short-lived and converted to standard infinite heat burners during the course of their useful lives. My range had been converted when I bought it and all parts-searches came up empty. I think I have the book for the 59 range with Sensi-Temp though, I have seen only a couple of the ranges from the early 60's. The cooking guides would likely be the same or very similar in content.

I am looking for owners manuals or instruction booklets on everything about my stove. My stove is sitting in my garage until I can retro renovate my kitchen. Any info would be great. Such as what year it is and where in my area can I get parts if I need them. Did these stoves come with a temp probe or maybe a meat thermometer. Thank you for your help

Cabinets are FABULOUS!

Yep, those turquoise cabinets are goregeous indeed!! Kind of off-topic, but did they come with the house??
I have an older version of the GE Sensi-temp range top on 56 GE Kitchen Center but alas, I have no information about it. I did notice one very strange thing about it, though. If the burner switch looks like it is off, it still gets hot! Don't like that much...

Sorry for the confusion. My stove is in my garage and I can't get to it to take pictures right now. The pictures you see are from a blog I found called retro renovation but the stove is exactly like mine. When I can get to my stove I will load those pictures. But am still looking for any info I can get. Thank you.By the way, heat wave here in Minnesota 30 degrees.

Owners Maunual for GE SensiTemp 40" stove

I am hoping you can help me with any info. I would love a copy of an owners manual or copies of vintage ads of this stove. I would like to know the year of my stove or where to look on it to find out. So far I must be looking in the wrong spots cause I have found nothing. Help

I'm guessing mid-sixties

Yours looks like an MOL from the early sixties. Does it have two ovens? Is one self-cleaning? Also does one of the burners actually lower into the stove?. I think the Sensi-Temp burner replaced those. Unfortunately I don't have any stuff for these years. I'll look around.

Baja! Your rendering of the cooktop and hood are what came with our 1962 modern house in Tacoma, WA. The matching oven had the dinner dials, but no window. They were coppertone with matching '62 pullout dishwasher and bottom feezer refer with foot pedal. I learned to cook on that cooktop and to this day I miss the 5 pushbuttons. No gessing and perfect heat! Sadly, my parents got tired of the coppertone and had them painted in 1979 or 80 and then with my Mother's advancing Althemimers, she'd turn on all the burners and then not know how to turn them off and burned the top so bad it was tossed.
Jkerrigan! I have a 1960 GE range users manual that I'd be happy to send you a copy of. It covers all the ranges of that year. Email me at [email protected] for more info!
