I didn't know this thread was here...

I'm not sick really. It's just that my back is celebrating 25 years in the Nursing profession and it decided to go out!! I have been flat on my back with my legs wide open! Hi Veg! ;)

I'm much better and walking again and back in school and ...both jobs...ugh! I'm here to tell you Jack Daniels DOES WORK!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes guys! I guess I should check this site more often!

Speaking of Flat on Your Back

Sophie Tucker Joke:
"The other day, I called up my Girlfriend Clementine and said Clementine, Harry just sent me a dozen roses."

Clementine replied "Oh Soph, that's just great."

"Great?", I replied. "Do you realize Clementine that i am now going to have to spend the next three days on my back with my legs in the air"?

"What's the matter, Soph, aint ya got a vase"?

What do you mean "back in school and *both* jobs"? I guess I have missed some changes in your life? Is this keeping up with nursing licensing school, or something different altogether? Where else are you working? I'm tired just thinking about it, LOL. Hope you keep doing better!

Hi Scott!

Long time no see!!

It works like this. I got a job offer to teach at the local community college here in the desert in September. It's actually the school I went to, College of the Desert in Palm Desert. I'm one of the Clinical instructors for 3rd Semester RN Program. A Masters prepared instructor does the theory at the college. I have the students in the hospital. My student rotations are on the weekends at Desert Regional where I work so that is convenient for me. However, in order to keep this job I have to have my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. I started my BSN program this month through the University of Phoenix. Hi Michael Thomas!!! They have a satalite campus in Palm Desert. Again, convenient for me!!

Because I need study time for my BSN program, i went to part time at the hospital. I work two days a week, 12 hr shifts. I don't really consider the teaching job work at all as it isn't hard labor like my regular nursing job is. LOL! It's mentally challanging in that i'm in charge of 10 students. I assign then to patients and they have papers to do which i grade, etc.

My days off are devoted to studying, reading the material as there is alot of it, meeting with my study group, grabbing a quick bite here and there. I get to my yoga class once a week only but recently my back had other plans. It's better now but still sore. I went and had xrays this past Thursday and stopped at a thrift store and bought this FABULOUS Eureka wide track upright vacuum on the way home! LOL!

It sounds busy but it is doable. Is that a word? Gosh just thinking about it makes me want to lie back and collapse!

;-) Marty
