Hi everyone, new to the club. First, I'd never in a million years believe that they're people who LOVE washing machines as much as I do. I really thought this was my own fascination. I found you guys about 4 years ago looking for photos of the Jet-Cone agitator. The GM Frigidaire washer is one of my favorite vintage washers. I was wondering if I can get some help with a detailed description of the "Jet-Cone Agitator" and wash tub. For instance, how tall & wide (top-to-bottom), with & without cap, including the agitator diaphragm (LxW). Is it one large cone with "VENTS" attached or individual rings/cones? Are there any "HOLES" in the agitator? How does water move throught-out the agitator when it's in action. I'll be able get an "approximate" tub size with the 1-18 tub measurements. My Whirlpool Gold washer has a (3.2 cu.ft) super plus capacity "bottom-of-tub rim" to "tub bottom" (16 5/8" L) x (20 3/4" W)the diameter. Does anyone know or can get these measurements for the 1-18 washtub? And last, you guys know Kenmore determines how many (pounds of laundry) the machine can wash by using (25" x 50") or (24" x 48") bath towels. With the Total Care agitator and 3.2 cu.ft tub, the washer can handle a (17lb.) washload. Has anyone ever tried a similar test or thought about with their 1-18 and compared capacites?
