Washer is either older, or has the wrong timer dial.

Kenny, I looked at the ad. There's another photo of the washer and the timer dial is the original one, not the white-faced one that is the photo you posted. Another photo has the serial tag shown for each the washer &^ the dryer.

Maytag must have significantly lowered their prices for these sets in 1975 to make way for the new SOH dryer model. Boatloads of them have popped up on this site for many years.

I’ve heard Maytag made some HOH dryers in 1976 which more than likely was from the leftover parts stock.
