goodbye pearsol appliance parts store

i recently posted a thread stating that there was a great appliance parts store here in cinti. that actually had all the old catalogs of part numbers from all the major brands dating back to the 50's and 60's. i was in there last fall and looked thru the hobart kitchenaid catalogs, these were fascinating to view! the owner said he could cross reference from these old catalogs and find parts that were unavailable by computer search alone. i found a motor and pump seal for a kitchenaid model 15 this way.

today i went in to check those kitchenaid catalogs again as i'm buying a kd-12 and i wanted to see what pump seal it used, and if available. i looked for the owner and was told he sold the place at the end of dec.and the new owners THREW ALL THE CATALOGS IN THE TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after i recovered from my stroke they informed me they are now a part of Dayton Appliance Parts and have no more parts info available than one can find by using any computer search on the web!

So my beloved Pearsol Parts Store that i have counted on for 30 years is no more! i won't even begin to say what i think about this as i realize profanity is prob not welcome here! suffice it to say i am disapointed (and extremely pissed!!!!!!

Welcome to the real world. PLASTIC AND THROW AWAY SOCIETY!!!I truly believe that if those type of throw away folks were to go--even to places in Mexico--their views on throwing shit away would change severely.I saw the old style Easy Spinner washers there being used as well as wringer washers similar to Speed Queen.When's the last time you saw a brand new Easy Spinner??????

Here in Hawaii,there are folks who utalise everything from cars to sinks.I would say at least 60% of the homes built here in Kona,Hilo and Honoca'a are on either solar or wind power and need machines and lights that operate efficiently on the power they have.We try to conserve because the cost per KWH is the highest in the nation.

I hear your pain. I have 2 of the 3 major washer parts catalogs that physically came from the Pearsol store in Cincinnati from 1960. Marcone in St. Louis actually published them for Pearsol but they are still are very useful for crossing over since they refer to the OEM PN's on all the break downs. I was excited to hear that the original owners were still around from your original posts, but it is a shame that a phone call wasn't made in time. More reason to act now instead of waiting for tomorrow!

In fact I have Vol. 2 in my hands right now - says Pearsol Appliance Corporation; it lists their only branch on 1933 Central Parkway, Cincinnati 14, Ohio.

Dear old Pearsols

Im born and raised in cincy and lived the til i took my current job back in late 06' I use to have an appliance store on the west side of town once upon a time. I got all my parts from and only from pearsols. When i use to have my old maytag wringers, i purchased the last "complete" wringer head in the US, from pearsols. Cost me $328 back in 98'. Unfortunatlly, i no longer have the wringers or the store. And now Pearsols is gone. I guess its the end of an era. I too remember going in and looking at all the old paper catalogs. I rebuilt my old KA806S from the catalogs. I no longer have it either
