Hmmm...It's something shiny in there! Wonder what it is?
Something cool to pimp out the car with? Maybe it's some new precision machine part? We'll find out when I get it home tonite!
Hmmm. poking out of the box, looks a little like some kind of interesting TV antenna. Nope... MaytagMom's got it right...It's a lamp! nope...not a leg lamp...a space age lamp!
I put some colored 5-watt C7 christmas light bulbs in it. A little dim with the soffett lighting on washing it out. Home Depot has some 7 watt white C7 bulbs I may use so that I can get some useable light out of it. Still, the colored bulbs look cool no matter how dim it is!
Very nice. Is that vintage or a repro? They made special light bulbs to go with sputniks and a company started manufacturing them again, so if you want to get real authentic...
I think these may be the bulbs you all are talking about. They look pretty neat, but are a little pricey. I'll probably use regular old nite-lite bulbs in it that can be had in a 4 pack for $1.50. I've been experimenting with different bulbs. It has a totally different look with the nite-lite bulbs in it. Looks good with my chrome table, and the silver paint around the window I found at Virginia Paint company. It's actually not quite that bright, but the digicam sort of lightens up the picture a little.
Got a bunch of taken-down christmas decorations I'm stowing away, so it looks a little messy in there.
I like that light fixture very much, got me thinking now LOL
I checked out the website and in the misc section page 1 they have two of the chalk wall dancers that look to be made by the same company as the one ballerina I have.
Funny you mention Sputnik,Beth. When we stayed in Indy over the years,we always had to have a Sputnik pizza delivered.Don't remember who had it,though....
