Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Oh, that brings back memories of the Grant's truck/trailer/semi, like that, which I had...

My logo stickers I thought were different, and mine I thought had smokestacks on it...

Don't even remember it saying anything about Bradford appliances, either, but it was so long ago that maybe it did...

Such a fun truck to play with...

If only when I'd grown, I could have driven one for them...

My dad worked there and in the small appliances dept. so that's clearly how I got mine, among other things, mostly family stuff like furniture and Bradford appliances in my early years before Grant's folded...

Like I said, my mind is reeling, remembering a few more details...

Bradford

My Dad was an Assistant Manager of a W.T. Grants store in SC when I was born. I grew up with a Bradford Dryer. I remember watching him change the fan belt on that dryer more than once.

My dad worked there I think in small appliances and took in big enough to support a family of four...

I'm sure the way our Bradford washer was replaced with a BOL Maytag that there must have been a lot of belts and other things replaced there, followed by the rest of the Grant's appliances replaced with another Maytag (dryer, a model 1-higher-up), a Tappan upper microwave electric range replacing a single oven electric, a Frigidaire side by side replacing a top-freezer and no more dishwasher until inheriting Grandma's BOL Kenmore...
